This game is an exercise in futility - DO NOT PURCHASE

[Post New]by Dianeteacher on Feb 16, 09 1:37 PM
I have been playing Match 3s for about 2 years now and have great success with
Around the World in 80 Days. To date, I have over 10 million points and 114 lives.

I have played Atlantis, the Call of Atlantis and now I saw Atlantis Quest!

The Quest of this game is to ever go beyond one area! THEY MAKE IT UNBELIEVABLY DIFFICULT. THIS GAME IS ABSOLUTELY NO FUN. IT IS TOOOO DIFFICULT. DO NOT PURCHASE!

Try it on a download trial and you will know what I mean. Good Luck, you will need it. Anyone agree - reply to this!

I disagree completely-please see my comments elsewhere in this forum.
This is a game of strategy rather than a simple Match 3. I have completed it many, many times-the last time being yesterday.

I agree with Diane. It's unbelievable difficult, no fun at all. I have not finished it, its uninstalled and I do not intend to start it again, EVER! Games should be fun and entertaining, not made for MENSA members.

To FlameLady,-you should start again and gather as many spades, hammers etc. as you can and save as many as possible to use in Level 6. If you keep re-starting the Level with limited resources, then it will be difficult. You will also be able to gain extra lives which you will have in reserve.
Good Luck-it can be done and it can be done.

I have been playing this game for a LONG time and COULD NOT get through it either. I started pushing the key's on the keyboard just to see what would happen. Well when I pushed the w it said I made it through the level. The only thing is if you have any weapons on the level you don't get them. I was very upset that I couldn't get through it.

I play this game from time to time. I'm not a big match 3 fan, but this game grabs me. I haven't beaten it, but I agree that it is as much about strategy as anything else. The suggestion to hoard as many implements and lives as you can is a good one.

Oh I dunno I would think that anybody who comes into a forum on computer games and starts questioning the sanity of it's members simply because they're involved in their hobby is a wee mite peculiar themselves ... just sayin'

I agree, do not waste your money purchasing this game unless you are a masochist. It cannot be won--and those who say they have finiished it probably got faulty versions. I've been playing this for months and months and months. I even tried restarting twice (DO NOT DO THAT) and each time I get only to a lower level before it stalled. One BIG complaint is the game will cheat--I try to move a tile side-to-side and the game goes and moved the piece up or down instead creating a match I did not want and which ruins the whole strategy. That massive cascade (you match one set and suddenly everything on the board goes into psycho cascade even though there weren't any matches I could do) has ruined a lot of strategies. When I have tried to add time using the hourglass, it adds only about 5 seconds (sic) worth of time so by the time I move the mouse the extra time is running out and I get no moves in. Seriously, whoever created this game ought to have thought about the fact that people do not like playing an unwinable game. I've played Call of Atlantis and Rise of Atlantis and have won both and now replay them regularly so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing or how to strategize. Atlantis Quest is just not well thought out; you have to give people encouragement and give them the sense that they can win to keep their interest. The only conclusion I've come to is that this game is unwinnable so I'm moving on to a better game challenge.

Hello Diane - I agree! I have not made it past the "Egypt" level which I think is only level 3 or some such novice level. But the good news is I only paid the $2.99 special for it ... still ... anyone with a catbird's seat on how to cruise through these levels would be appreciated!

This was actually the one of the 1st games i purchased a couple of years ago. Hated it! Now I keep coming back to it 'cause it's such a challenge, I just can't resist. Gotta admit, I still haven't quite finished, but I'm almost there

I absolutely agree. DO NOT PURCHASE this game. It is way too difficult for someone who just wants to enjoy these type of match 3 games.

I TOTALLY AGREE - DO NOT PURCHASE - I PLAY MATCH 3 TO RELAX NOT TO BE STUCK AT THE SAME LEVEL FOR A MONTH - TRIED ALL SORTS OF STRATEGIES - DOES NOT WORK AND IRRITATES ME...THAT'S NOT THE POINT IS IT ???!!

I have lots of success with Match 3 games also. On this one, I can't make it through Egypt, no matter what I try. The game shouldn't go back to the first challenge every time you don't make it through a level. I'm glad I only paid $2.99 for it.
