Nails for the stairs

I saw the nails in the hallway, but once i removed the chains from door for the stairs going down, i could no longer get to the nails which seem to be hidden behind the door. It won't allow me to zoom in. I'm either in the hall or on the stairs and i can't go forward til i get the nails to hammer into the unfinished stairs. Anyone have a suggestion?
