Post any Big Bang West technical issues here only

[Post New]by bfgBaikal on May 14, 13 12:32 AM
If you are having problems getting the game to work correctly, we highly recommend going to our Help pages. Using our Help pages is always the quickest way to get technical problems resolved. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people correct these types of problems in the past:

Game Crashing, Freezing, or Blank Screen
Game Compatibility

While we can offer a known solution for technical issues in the Forums, or other tech savvy pond residents can swim by with good tips and suggestions, we cannot provide the same excellent level of support provided by our Customer Support team.

The Forums are not very well suited for the kinds of information gathering and troubleshooting that get these types of issues corrected quickly.

If there is a problem with the game, our Support Team can also gather necessary information on what types of computers are being affected by the problem and deliver this information to the developer for a fix.

If you are not able to get a game working properly using our Help pages, please get in touch with our Customer Support team, you can find a link to contact our Support team on the front page of our Help pages.

When posting in this thread and also when contacting our Support Team, it would be helpful if you could state what system you are playing the game on (i.e. PC, MAC or Mobile), so we can provide you with the appropriate support as quickly as possible.

*Finally, please reserve this thread for tech issues only. If you are seeking game play assistance (i.e. hints and tips), the best thing to do is to start a new thread in the game's Forum by clicking on 'Create New Discussion.'

Too large for screens

[Post New]by 1941grandma on May 14, 13 7:18 AM
I have the same problem that I have had with a few other games - I have to play in windowed mode. because full screen mode stretches across both of my monitors, and no! I will not change the resolution on my screens so that I can play games. I work on my computer and do not want to change the resolution back and forth.

I had the problem with Virtual Family 2, and did not buy it even though I have bought all the developer's previous games for PC.

Anyway, the resolution on each of my monitors is set on maximum, so what size are the screens which can show these games correctly? I have tried lower resolutions and it makes the problem worse

Hey 1941grandma,

If you've already tried other resolutions as shown in the
Screen Resolution
help article, then one of our Reps from Tech Support will be able to look into the issue a little further to see if there's anything else that can be done to get those games displaying correctly!

deejac: I would definitely check out the following help article for some great tips and tricks:

Game Crashing, Freezing, or Blank Screen

Please also be sure to reach out to Tech Support with a Dr. Felix and they'll be able to work with you directly to help get that working.

Just click on the green to the right of the page and then select the Contact Us link to the bottom left to reach them.

I hope this is helpful!

I have only a single monitor (wide screen) and have to play in windowed mode because I lose several inches off the right side in full screen mode. I concur with others that I won't change my system resolution to deal with this. Games need to have this function internal. There are plenty of games out there that will work, I'll stick with buying those.

Heya kimberph,

I'm really sorry to hear that your game chops off parts of the screen when you try to play in full screen.

We found out that these kind of display issues are often connected to the computer not being able to display the game properly as some of the software is missing some update. If you would like to check this (it won't change any settings on your computer) you can always have a look at the steps that we provide here.

If this doesn’t help, our Technical Support will be more than happy to have a further look at this with you so you can enjoy your game again! To get help faster it would be a great help if you could include a Dr. Felix report. You can contact them 24/7 by clicking on the green envelope at the top-right of this page. On the next page you can find the Contact Us link on the bottom-left.

If you are a member of our Big Fish Game Club you can contact us without waiting through our Live-Chat, which is open for you Monday – Friday from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm PST.

I hope this helps!

Hi grndpiano,

When a game fails to open, returning an access violation error message like you described, it normally indicates that your computer’s graphics configuration not matching what the game requires in order to run smoothly.

The best way of dealing with this is to have a look at the following help article here and follow the advice to update any elements you can.

If the error persists after updating or you would like us to have a look at this with you though, we would be happy to do so. You can contact Tech Support for further assistance by clicking on the green to the right of the page and one of our Reps would be happy to assist you!

Hoping this is helpful,

bfgBaikal

I'm getting the same thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times but same error code. I give up.
