Amazon Strategy Guide

[Post New]by jtbarnes on Jun 20, 08 9:38 AM
This is the first time I've purchased a Strategy Guide for a game. After playing the game a bit on the free trial, I realized I would probably need it!

My question - since the Strategy Guide is loaded into my BigFish "player", I can't have it open at the same time as I'm playing the game.

At the risk of sounding dumb (which I often do!), can someone tell me how to use the Strategy Guide AND play the game at the same time? I had thought about converting the guide into a PDF, but don't even know if that's possible.

Thanks!

If your PC will support two web browsers, try opening the Strategy Guide in one browser and your game in a different browser. Don't know if it will work but it's worth a shot. Good Luck.
GinaBean -- if you read this -- didn't you have this problem with Madame Fate? Did you come up with a solution?

No cesse, that wasn't me, you must be thinking of someone else. I never purchased the MF Strategy Guide. And why bother? With friends like you, Edna, Scotcat, Oreo, Basketcase, Lisa, Karen, and so many others (and hopefully many new ones to come), who would need it? You all got me out of every jam I ever got into with every game I've played! You guys are the best! Awwhhh, now I'm all choked up.

Hi Net! Currently, we want folks to reference the strategy guide only when they get stuck. The game isn't half as fun if you don't give the puzzles a try on your own! So you aren't able to have the strategy guide and the game running on your computer at the same time. If you want to have a page or two of the strategy guide open on your computer while you play the game, a good workaround is to use Print Screen to take "photo" of the page.

To do this just open the guide on your computer and press the print screen button on your computer keyboard (it might say "Prt Scn"). Next, open your favorite word processing program and create a new document. Position your cursor at the beginning of the document or wherever you want the screenshot to appear. Using your keyboard again, press Ctrl and V at the same time which will Paste the screenshot in your open document. Now you can close the strategy guide and keep this word document open while you play your game.

I hope this helps!

Hi Erie! Thanks for the tip on using the print screen! I'll give that a try. I can normally figure these games out on my own, but must admit BFG has me stumped this time!

May I say this is one of the most beautiful graphic games I have ever seen. Kudos to everyone at BFG!!!

No problem! Yeah, this game has quite a few head scratchers in it. But yes, the game is beautiful and I love the journal entries. I got a good laugh when I read some the comments the professor wrote about the monkeys.

That is the guide for the game, and the only place you can get it. You can always try the demo to see if it helps you .

With Strategy Guides I find the thing to do is do a screen print on the part that is stumping me. I then paste it into a word doc and it is easy to get at when doing the puzzle.
I prefer to try and work out the puzzles without help, but sometimes when needs must............
