I have a small problem. I have to subtract twice to get 6 for the answer. The problem is that I can't use the # 2. I'm not really sure if the magic orbs would help.
The #'s I can use 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Ex: 7-1-1=5
Answer: 6

Actually, a double subtraction is the only way to do it. There is no adding.
Here is a link to a pic I took.

There is an 8 and two 1's and two minus signs in your screen shot.
8 minus 1 minus 1 equals 6
8, -1, -1, = 6

I had the same problem with this puzzle. The answer was 5 and there were only minus signs available. I tried every combo available and it wouldn't budge. Saw these posts so tried 7-1-1 and it worked like a charm. I think that is the way the puzzle in Chapter 7 was designed to work.

When I try to say 6-1-1 it still will not change the #4 to different #. The message box pops up and says they are not the numbers required. all I have are minus signs, I have tried every combo I can think of. Someone please help.
The first time you play that numbers game it only requires 2 numbers, such as 6 - 2 = 4. When you play it again later it requires 2 numbers, such as 6 - 1 - 1 = 4. If you are not in chapter 7, try to use only 2 numbers and see if that helps. Good luck!
