How do I use the shears?

I am trying to cut a white rose,I have the shears but I have tried and tried and I can't cut anything with the shears . The promp just says I need something sharp with long handles which I have. Help

Do you have the shears or the scissors? Or both? The garden shears are located on the floor in front of the princess' casket.

I am having the same problem. I cannot cut no matter what I use. No matter what angle I go at them at. So I am stuck. Please help! Other than that I love the game.

Having the same problem with the shears they are just rotating and return to the inventory. anybody got any clue as to the issue and how to resolve it
