Room Resets at Game Completion - iPhone version

After all my efforts to decorate the room when suddenly, without any warning, the game ends and the beautiful room abruptly resets to the bare ugly room at the start. I did not even get to take a screenshot of my decorated room! Is this an oversight or a glitch? I feel so frustrated!

At least the gallery is not reset. I could view the 21 paintings that my character has restored.

Also, I did not upgrade the room to its maximum for all the fittings. Why offer all these choices of fittings when the player cannot afford to buy all of them?
