chapter 2 cluttered dresser

The game will not let me pick up the "cone" (pine cone). I have gone back through everything to see if I missed something but cannot come up with anything else.

What have I missed or why won't it let me? I have the towel as well.

Did you ever find out an answer to why you couldn't pick up pine cone? I am having same issue.
