Upgrading the desk...

Does this do anything other than change the look? I don't like the look of the third one. I would like to know if upgrading the desk effects the customers patience or anything other than the look of the desk...

Not that I've noticed. I've earned 70 out of the 72 awards. Haven't seen one for the upgrades of desks or chairs.
