Books at Aunt Eloise's

I just this finished this game, and I enjoyed it very much. I thought it was a good length. I guess you can skip deciphering the clues on the message boards, but the game will be boring if you do. The cryptic clues made the game fun. I thought they gave depth to the characters you talked to. It was as if you knew stuff about them that they didn't know you knew (does that make any sense? ), which made actually talking to the characters more fun.

However I was left wondering about the books at Aunt Eloise's. How are they relevant to the game? There's a book called Hidden Clues Are Everywhere, that ends with "Follow the X to the spot below". Was that a clue for something? Also, What about the book to the left of the TV (the one with the story about Renate, Karl etc?), does anyone know?

I hope everyone enjoyed this game as much as I did!

I never paid attention to the books before. However, the characters Renate and Karl are in another Nancy Drew game, The Captive Curse.
