Ending?

This game always ends in a tie. I've played it 3 times, beginning to end, and I always get that the contest is tied and then it Maria wins. Does anybody get a different ending than a tie?

I got the tie as well. Didn't get gold on every level but don't know if that has anything to do with it.....doesn't seem to.
