Sending a gift

I'm very new to this game and am at level 8 and doing favors for the troll. What I haven't done till now is add friends or send gifts. I have gift boxes in my inventory and it says my friends would love them. I can not figure out how to send those gift boxes.

I do see a wishlist for JustJohn but don't have any items to give him. Can I send a gift box?
