I can't come through the gate

I'm on the quest to Honeydate, where I have to find aerfae resting in the castle eclipse, I have found the entrance in the upper left corner of Honneygate, and I have found my way to the gate, I have my adventure jacket on me, but the gate will not open, help wanted badly, smiling

Go back to where you 1st came down the steps from the shed. Go north then west. you won't see a door but if you walk to the end of the hall, you'll exit to a different area in the ruins. You have to do several things in that direction before you can open the gate.

PS: I think that you need to go north before you jumped the water so from you will may have to jump back across to get to the area with the switch.

You probably haven't flicked the switch.

When you enter the ruins (or whatever), instead of taking the right path on the "Mouldering Chamber" screen, you need to go on a bit and jump over the water to the left path.
There, you'll find a switch that opens the gate.
