I downloaded the trial yesterday, so I'm probably a little late with this, since most others have already downloaded and played the full version, but here goes:
I really liked the game, and I think it's on par with Everest and possibly even better (hard to say since I only played it for an hour). I thought the graphics were excellent. I read somewhere else, I don't know if it was on this forum or somewhere else, that some people didn't think the graphics were as sharp as the previous game. I think the graphics were great. Yes, in the outdoor scenes they had a "hazy" quality to them if you will, but I think that was more of an attempt to reflect the environmental conditions (i.e: hot, humid, steamy) and it didn't take away from the game. In fact, it added to my enjoyment because it made me feel like I was right there in the jungle. I thought the items were difficult enough to find, but not so challenging as to discourage me. As a die hard HO fan I have gotten quite good at this type of game, and I can't stand the ones that are so easy that it takes me an hour to blow through 20 levels, you know? Amazon kept me challeneged, which is hard to do. So kudos there. Also, the minigames were sufficiently challenging as well. I only got through two of them...the one with the writing on the wall and the one with the snakes. The minigames were a little frustrating for me, as it took me a while to figure out exactly what I had to do for each game. Kind of on par with the minigames in madame Fate, where you actually had to use your brain, and it wasn't simply swapping pieces to create a puzzle, or what have you. So, again, kudos to the developers for creating a game that kept me hooked for an hour and wanting more. I will definitely be purchasing this one in the future.
