The Gear Puzzle

I'm at the point in the game where I have a weight and one gear in my inventory. I'm trying to find "gear 4" and I get a blue curser when I go to the top right of the screen, but when I try to put my inventory gear there, nothing happens. There is also a key hole right there, but I don't have a key. And I have no idea what the weight is for. Can someone help me? Thanks.

Jenny, the weight goes on a hook (top right) in one of the scenes. The gear area is a section in the game where you need to keep jumping back & forth between scenes to do different thing. Keep running your cursor over the whole screen in all scenes to see where it turns blue. I think you will need 4-5 gears total in your inventory.
