Punch Cards

[Post New]by Ssuzq1 on Mar 1, 14 3:09 AM
I'm not sure if everyone knows about this but BFG recently made the decision that games purchased with Punch Card coupons will no longer earn a regular punch because this would be stacking a bonus on top of another bonus. I found out about this when I had 5 punches on my card and when I purchased another game, the 6th punch did not show up. I contacted BFG and after 4 days, I finally received a response and was told about their new policy. They said the only way to get around this, is to buy games on Mondays -- you won't get the regular punch, but you will get the bonus punch. So, remember fishys -- buying games with punch cards will only get you the games -- not the punch.

I found out the hard way myself. I needed one more punch for the last day of month and it did not work. So I was forced to buy a game just to get that punch or I would have lost the whole punch card.
I also contacted BF, no reply yet.
BF is making it harder to keep my membership, what are the benefits of staying. Arrrgh, so frustrating with all the negative changes

Also found out yesterday, after using a punch card coupon. I can understand, but I wish they had notified us ahead of time.

Should have been easy enough to send out an email informing members of this change, but apparently couldn't be bothered. I wonder how many members didn't find out in time to save their punch card before it expired yesterday. BFG hasn't realized that you don't change the rules in the middle of the game, and you don't change the rules without some warning.

It's sad to see an old friend lose integrity.

I told them it would have been considerate to let us know, like an Email, or post it somewhere on the website. I'm waiting for them to change the amount of punches we will get by purchasing Collector Editions -- I'm sure they'll change it. Remember, NOTHING is free. I was told the only way to receive punches is to use money (of course) or with credits that are bought with money. It's all about the dollars!!!!
My purchase of games will definitely decrease now.

Another thing to remember with the new policy is on bonus punch Mondays, a PCC code will give you just one punch rather than two. But if you use a PCC on any day other than Monday, you will get no punch.

I also complained to customer service and received a free game code, which was nice of them really, because the help pages still said we could use the PCCs for punches. But it would have been nicer to just inform us, especially when it was the end of the month and everyone is trying to fill their cards. There isn't anything on the Facebook page either. We are all just supposed to know because we're members.

I too found out by accident yesterday about the new rules for punch card purchases. I also was forced to purchase a game I really was not interested in just so I would not lose my 5 punches. I emailed my extreme disappointment to BFG but have not gotten a response. At the very least they should have let us know at the beginning of the month. We make our purchases accordingly.

Now I am wondering....with the sale this weekend, if I get two CE games and use the discount coupon will I get three punches or six punches? IMO it should be six punches because even with the coupon I am still paying money for the second game. Guess there's only one way to find out.....

I too bought a game yesterday with coupon to get last punch .But didn't get it.I totally forgot about the warning from other fishies about this.
Yes it would have been nice for Bf to have given us notice about it early on.
But I also have to compliment customer service, because they have always come through for me and within the 72 hours that they give.
To BF please give us notice even it's just on the main page of your sight of any changes coming up.

I just read the help article for the CE sale today. It states you will receive one punch for every CE you purchase. This statement is towards the end of article in the how to use game credits for games. ONE punch? This is really going downhill. Guess I better start pulling out my really old games to play. BFG is taking everything away.

Hmmm... I bought a CE and a SE yesterday and got the correct punches for both. I had 2 punches on my card and with my purchases, it filled it up and I received my bonus game coupon. Maybe it would be wiser to speak with a Rep on Chat to see why you were denied your extra punches. I've always had good responses with the tech's on any subject. I've been a customer and member with BF for a good many years and have always had good service from them.

Big Fish statement:......................

Do these Collector's Editions qualify for the Big Fish Game Club Monthly Punch Card?

Yes, you will receive one punch on your Punch Card for every Collector's Edition that you buy.

This is the statement in the help article.......it states one punch on punch card for every CE that you buy. ONE??????

The new rule applies only to "free game" coupons - if you pay with actual money, the punches remain as usual (for now....). I also got caught in this, and bought a CE I didn't much want in order to fill the card - and the darn thing has a bug in it that halted my play. Insult added to injury. This new punch rule actually only hurts BFG's best customers, many of whom, like myself, are pensioners on limited budgets. Whether it is a good business move remains to be seen. That this was not done by good and thoughtful people is obvious.

to smilestogo........yesterday was not extra punch monday, so, no extra punch of course, did you use a punch card coupon to buy your games, or money? You will receive a punch if you "purchase" a game, not if you use a punch coupon. new rules. If you use any type of money to buy games, you will receive punches as usual. however, not so with coupons now.

The lack of notice is what really bothers me. If there had been a notification even a week ago, I would have adjusted my plan-of-action for my punchcard.

So many of us fill the punchcard at the end of the month so as to not lose punches. I was so ticked off by the lack of notice and that I wasted a PCC on a game I didn't really want, that I refused to pay $6.99 for a game just to fill my punchcard. There is no way I'm going to buy CEs now. I am going to wait for the SE versions and use up my PCCs. After that, we'll see....

I think BFG hurt themselves with this change. It could have been handled so much better.

No, I didn't know about this--wish I would have yesterday--lost a whole punch card because of it. I contacted customer service because I didn't get my last punch. Pretty carpy of BF not to notify us about it. Thanks, BF---from a very long time customer.

Surely Big Fish makes enough money to not pull this squeeze on what was a great deal for members. Cold shot. I am disheartened.

Spent a code this morning (I'm 9 hours ahead of BFG's time) to finish my punch card, spent this code on a stupid game as no more good SEs are offered, and at 9 AM BFG time I had lost five punches !!!!!

Is BFG a giant Casino ? Playing now only on casino addiction ? It does seem so and I'm not going to spend anymore money on this site if that all the consideration we get back.

I had already stopped reviewing, I'm now going to stop spending MONEY here, I've been fooled too long.

If I can't do otherwise, I will buy directly from devs but they usually are quite expensive but there are other games sites which are cheaper and that will be a relief to leave this place.
