Thank you, mogedijan. This game is so confusing to me. It might as well be Sudoku, another game I find to be a headache maker. Are you numbering your rows vertically or horizontally? I think it's vertically but I want to make sure. TY again.

I can't understand all the replies.

Can someone please explain how to work out the grids.

I did the first one easy, but now it makes no sense.

hmm...hmmmm.. i will try to make this simpler(extrim hard cuz we even made pict for 1st 3 puzzles but ill try).....couple puzzles are 5x5 blocks(1st 5 puzzles they get bigger from 6th) ...soo when u enter puzzle tap in it numbers i wrote.. loking horizontaly (from left to right) that is explanation..of numbers..explanation of picture .. ill take 2nd puzzle as example: x-will mark one u need to tap o- will be emty ones

xxoxx this is 1st row 1245 -these are numbers u need to tap in this row
oxxxo 2nd row 234- these are for this row
ooxoo 3rd row 3 - this is for this row
ooxoo 4th row 3 -this is for this row
oxxxo 5th row 234-these are for this row

without picture :row1,row2,row3,row4,row5
:1245,234, 3 , 3 , 234
hmm.. ok this was my hardest simplifier (aka-i cant make it more simple)

yes, thanks, but how did you work them out from the code on the puzzle sides?
What do the numbers mean.

How 'bout I give it a try, Simm? As you look at the plot of squares, you're seeing rows of 5 squares from top to bottom
+++++
+++++
+++++
+++++
+++++
Now, starting from the top left corner, you number from left to right, 1 - 5 and do the same with each row.
12345
12345
12345
12345
12345
For the second puzzle, according to mogedijan's code, in the top/first row you would click, space numbers, 1, 2, 4 & 5. Quilt pics will show in all but the middle square. The second row down, you will click spaces 2, 3 & 4, only the two end squares will not have quilt pics. The third row down will only have the middle space (#3) with a quilt pic. The same for the fourth row. The fifth/bottom row is the same as the second row, end spaces empty, quilts in the middle 3 spaces.
12 45
234
3
3
234
Click only the number squares and leave the others blank.
Apply this technique to the other puzzles and you should be okay.
As for the codes on the sides, you'll have to talk with someone who plays Sudoku well. The only ones I knew for sure were rows 3, both horizontally and vertically, in puzzle 1. It has the quilt pic in the very middle of the puzzle. Both rows had only 1 line for each of them. All the others had more. It's just hit and miss for me with these. Hope that helps.

The numbers across the top and the next to the rows indicate the number of squares that are filled in. Separate numbers mean that there is a space between them.
On a square on 5x5, a number of "3" MUST cover the middle square of the row or column. A setup of 1, 1, 1 requires 3 covered spaces with at least one space between each. Again, on a 5x5, this means that spaces 1, 3, and 5 must be covered.
Altogether it is a little logic puzzle that uses the rows and columns together to define the covered spaces.
I agree with the other poster...download any of the "World Mosaics" games (there's a new FTP version) and use the tutorial to learn how to do these puzzles. They're actually pretty cool when you get used to them. They appear regularly in several puzzle magazines, with a quick tutorial.

FRUSTRATION. I I feel like giving up on this game altogether because of these Fahleed games. I'm one of those people who sees numbers and their mind goes blank....it's a fear of numbers! I have read through all of the above comments and NONE of it makes any sense to me. Aaargh.

It's okay, betsy, don't pull your hair out yet. Check the thread fahleed solutions on page 2. Thayenna is a very kind and helpful person. She might have what you need.
