i am debating the purchase of this game, can you tell me how many levels and approximate length of game play? what are reviewers ratings?

Nine days, split into several scenarios. Several days' play. It's hard, even with its hint system.
It's an 8 externally, ratings-wise.

Where is this hint system? I can't find any question mark (?) that someone was talking about.
Also~~~
When I hit load all I see are 4 blank white kind of blobs (boxes)

I seem to have to start over every time.

I think I would like this game, if I actually knew what to do.
It should be explained better, IMO..

Anyone else having this problem?

That sounds as though your system isn't up to the game, lunahielo.
I have a feeling that a laptop or pc with a (n Intel Express) graphics chipset is going to struggle, or find the game unplayable.
Version 1 of the game dates from 2006 and version 2 from 2008, which might give you an idea of the pcs it was designed to be played on.

If you right click the main game screen you will get your inventory screen. At the bottom in the middle is the red question mark.
As for loading games, have you actually saved any? There is no automatic save function. Again from the main game screen press the escape button on your keyboard and choose save game from the menu. Click on any of the 4 white squares and go from there. Hope this helps.

I just downloaded the game. The music and voices on the intro work fine but once the game begins, the voices sound like tin can echos. Anyone else having this problem?

You can get a good walkthrough at gameboomers.

You can play the whole game without a walkthrough. The internal UHS works just fine.

Of course you are smart, you use Big Fish Games!!
There is a hint system in the game, on the inventory screen click on the red question mark in the middle at the bottom of the page. It gives you step by step hints so you can choose how much information you want.

UHS stands for Universal Hint System. The game's hints follow that format.

hello all

before i commit to buy this game, can anyone give me an idea of whether its worth it? i have bought games in the past without a free hour trial and been sorely disappointed.

how many levels and what degree of difficulty is it, can it be compared to any other games?

would greatly appreciate any input

Is there a better game to start this kind of game adventure.. I am afraid this might be too overwhelming....I have played Return to mysterious island and Journey to the center of the earth.....can I handle this???????

I think Journey to the Center of the Earth was obscure just to be obscure. Whilst this game is hard, it is logical and the internal hint system and this forum should prevent the game from becoming unplayable.

anyone know how too process the items found during the first investigation

Hi Big Fish, love the game so far without any problems BUT I have come to the third step "Switzerland" and it has frozen and wont continue with an error posted to it. Help!!
