HOS Killing the fly

Please help. Never played these games before. Love them. Been trying to kill or do whatever to fly with the swatter nothing happens. Try over and over and over. What am I missing? Someone please let me know. Can't move on without this.

Not sure what the problem is...

Are you making sure that the little gear icon appears? You have to position the fly swat in the "right" place for this to happen...

but since you've got this far in the game, you have probably worked out about the gear icon already, so I'm sorry if this doesn't help.
