reminder, what the red exclamation mark is for

[Post New]by _DD_ on Jun 21, 14 4:29 AM
from BFG's forum rules =>
here is what BFG wants us to do:

>>>
What to do if you see a post that breaks the rules:

Click on the ! on the post to report it. (You must be signed in to see the icon.) Moderators will review the post and take appropriate action. Do not respond to or comment on posts or discussions that break the rules.
<<<<

Don't feed the trolls, please.

>>>
Posts or discussions that violate the Forum Rules will be removed by a moderator, and users will be informed of the rules. Forum users who repeatedly violate the Forum Rules may be temporarily or permanently banned from the forums. Posts that are reported multiple times may automatically be removed by our system. <<<

As seen in the past, about 5 or 6 reports via the red exclamation mark on a post will "hide" the reported msg from view, until a BFG Mod comes in and can take action.

Please, don't forget also, that the Mod will have to edit your messages as well (=more work for them), especially if you quote the post in question.
And that the amount of posts in a Tech.thread, f.e. will give a false impression about the game.

Thanks DD and sorry for duplicating your thread in a far less informative way!

no need for sorry, Tufty (hey, catbag, that was my line! )

better two threads than a million replies in a million threads.
(so, did you delete your reply in the Tech.thread? it wasn't about a tech. problem <grins> )

*gasp* I'm sorry! Don't eat me, kind Dogfish, even though I am a CATbag!
Great to see some humour still in these forums. Keep up the work, DD.

Uh, Oh. Hope I didn't break rule by sending PM. I did go out of my way to be polite though.
Being a member for 8 years, I should have realized all the great folks here would address issue in correct manner.

Well done, Tufty, thanks!

ah, catbag, now that you've apologized in such a humble and above all, serious manner, I won't ... hey wait. Dogs don't eat clowns. No worries.

atmmts, it depends to whom you sent the PM, and how the recipient sees it.

I (and most others here, I'm sure) understand that reaction very well, molla. It's just that there was a similar flood in another game forum just recently, and it is obvious from there and today, that no reply - not angry ones, no factual, no explanatory - helps anything.

Let there be silence.

So, I'd really recommend to everyone who is annoyed about non-game related posts here today to delete own replies (remember the first forum rule...) and use the report feature.
