After system restore help needed

[Post New]by JJ50 on Jun 29, 14 10:43 AM
I had to do a system restore my my computer. I now get this message when loading MC.

The current version is not compatible with your save.
Your save was created in a more recent version of the game.
Remove the save to start the current version of the game.

Anyone know where the save file is that they want me to delete?

I have contacted support.

I believe that it is in your C://Users/***your computer name here***/App Data/Roaming/Elephant Games. They probably want you to delete the Midnight Castle folder found there.

JJ50 I am afraid that if you remove the save file that you might have to start the game over ;from the beginning. That is what i had to do to remove a gliitched out game and it started me over.
Wait for BFG CS to answer you and also send elephant games your question.

JJ50,
After you did the system restore, did you check the Games Manager to be sure you've installed the latest update for MC? Sounds like that may be what it's asking for. It couldn't hurt to check in any case. If you need to, do a manual check for updates in the Games Manager by selecting Options and then the Downloads tab, then click Manually and Check Now. I'm betting your system restore reset some of the updates or the program download settings. You can also uninstall and reinstall MC, that won't interfere with your game. To be safe, back up the game data files (in the Elephant Games folder) before you start so you have that to go back to.

Sounds like you restored to a point before the recent update. Didn't your system prompt you to back up your files before the restore?

Ty...TY...TY for all your suggestions.

It was my games manager that needed updated again. When I went to look it said the MC had a update available.

I am now happily playing again.

Thanks again everyone and for the great suggestion Rosie!!!
