Can't finish

After slogging through the game with fatal errors every few scenes (sort of like driving a car and stalling at every other traffic light), I've come almost to the end. My inventory is one vial of tears. I am in the High Priestess Room and can't find anything to do. The hint points me to the square area in the middle of the floor, but that's it. Can't move there. Can't use the tears there. Have I slogged through this error ridden game to be stopped at the very end?

Did you find a work thru to that scene? I am also stuck there.
