This was one of the very first popular hidden-object games. It was released in 2006, I believe. At that time, junk piles and timers were part and parcel of the hidden object genre. The timer was there to increase the challenge for the player. It was only later that timers went away. There were also no achievements, no voiceovers, no inventories, no "collector's editions", and no live actors.
Also, if you can believe it, most game portals (including the infant BFG) charged $14.99 a month for their game club and the same price for members to buy a game. Most games you bought elsewhere on the internet (or as a non-member here or on the other big-name portals) were $19.99. Games are much more expensive to produce now, but somehow we're paying less, even a decade later. So lots of things have changed.
