Just got off another forum for a game I play, and it looks like Big Fish was sold to Churchill Downs for $855 Million. Hope it doesn't impact our Hidden Object and Time Management games.. or hurt our chances for the ART update

WOW!!! Thats a lot of dosh, I have just read the article in the New York Times and here's a quote from it

" Most people never spend any money in these so-called freemium games. Enough do, and with such abandon, that the freemium business can be lucrative. "

that to me means that they are going to keep the games going as it means more money. This whole sale could be one of the holdups in the update maybe.

Hopefully it WILL impact these games. We might actually get an update sometime this century. I won't hold my breath though.

G'day,

I see that our news is travelling fast, and exciting news it is too!

Let me assure you all that the only change that our Big Fish customers will experience is…NOTHING!

Church Hill Downs Inc. acquired Big Fish because they admire and appreciate the games business we’ve built to date, and wish to see it remain intact and grow into the future.

This acquisition does not change the quantity nor quality of games we will be bringing to Big Fish fans, nor does it change how we will continue to engage with our customers. You are the reason we built this company. Big Fish, which will remain known as Big Fish, is even stronger now and here for the long haul.

We are excited and looking forward to making even more excellent games for you to play!

As always, as soon as the forums team know any details about an update for the game we'll let you all know.

Thanks for providing some insight into the near term future. Glad to see that BFG will remain in tact.

Thanks for that news. I hope it was the reason for not updating the game. Still waiting

I have also read that free-to-play gaming is what everyone will be getting in on,so they are definitely making some cash or that wouldn't be the case!

Does that mean we get to watch the pony's during the Auction?

Huh. So the arcade is to have off the track betting. Well, guess it will be something to do... off to search for stats on the horses.

The one thing that made me smile, it was sold for a just a little over half of what my agency paid for a new computer system. Would have thought BF was worth more than that.

Oh, another thing I noticed a couple of weeks ago... BFG street address is the exact same as Classmates, in the category of things that make you go Hmmm.

BFG has a (large) suite in an office building. So the street address could be the same.

So we can continue to happily unlock our games after the change? We will still own them?

We bought them, we own them. From what I've read Churchill Downs is more interested in the F2P casino/slots games. Paul Thelen, the man who founded BFG will still be there for a couple of years (at least). So we're fine for now. I can't see them going back on their word.

I can always fall back on to my *Win game account. I just don't like their game manager. Some of their games show up before BFGames gets them that's the only plus to them.

Hi there Michelle,

I just wanted to pop in and confirm that as lilyr mentioned, it is business as usual here at Big Fish.

You'll continue to find our games and all your purchased games at the same location you've always known.

I hope this helps
