'cheating' Cradle of Rome

[Post New]by englishrose4719 on Apr 17, 09 11:24 AM
Ive been looking through the threads on Cradle of Rome and it seems that the only way to win at it is to go in and change the profile, i.e add aditional lives. Having used up 20 and still cant get past level 55, does anybody know if this game is actually do-able?! Ta

Haven't played it through for quite a while but yes it is doable, very doable if I can manage it As I remember it's important to never end a round by using one of your powerups so as to have it available for another round.

I have wondered the same thing about the Cradle of Persia which I have been playing for over a year now . I get all the way to the last level and no matter how many lives I seem to have I can never win that last level .

thanks everyone, but having now played level 55 for 14 hours (not all in one go!) Im not convinced. Im down to my last three live and really dont want to add any more. I read someone elses post when they said the game wasnt enjoyable now and a waste of money and Im really feeling the same thing. Is there a knack to getting this level out? Im getting loads of combos, even got a new citizen this time, ive loads of credits banked just waiting to buy a new piece of real estate and am really fed up (and my fingers hurt!) x

I'm not sure what level 55 is but don't give up! What I did was keep playing with all the power ups except the the time power up. I just stayed in that section and built up my money and lives for a loooong time. Then you can buy the star, sheild and I think the mixer all at once so you you have the good ones to get you thru the tough levels. I'm old and I just played this again, well completed it again last night with 17 lives left so I know you can do it! And yes, you will have to buy the time power up at the same time to get to the next screen of power ups.

Rose

I went and played the game again today to see if I could help you. When I got to level 55 the only way I could pass it was when they were offering the hour glass power up. The minute the hour glass filled and was ready for use I immediately added more time. I added 3 hour glass power ups all together. It took me four attempts to get through the level each attempt I could get all the chains off but would run out of time even using the bolt, bomb, and hammer. If you haven't bought the hour glass power up do that first thing.

I really hope this helps because this really is an enjoyable game. Lets us know how you make out.

Good luck

Hello, there. I have a fine solution for all your problems
First, go to the difficult level and match some tiles -- a few ones. Then get out of the game. Now click on the game icon again, but with the right button, just once. Click twice on properties (left button). Now, click on locate destiny (twice, left button). Same thing on "save". Point the mouse on your name and click once (right button). Edit, left button and Edit again; substitute. Type amount="200", and do ctrlC. Go to "substitute" and do ctrlV. Now you take out one of the zeroes, so that it will read amount="20". Now, press "locate" and substitute. Go on substituting until it says the job is finished. Close that window; they will ask you if you want to save. YESSSS! Close all windows, and go back to the game, as usual. TA-DA!! There you have it, lots of bonuses, one after the other. That's the only way you can reach the Emperors level. Sounds kinda compolicate, but its quite easy. Careful, though. Each time you want to have more bonuses, you have to repeat all these operations. And I strongly recommend that you copy the whole thing BEFORE changing anything. Bye and good luck.

Ok, you people, all of you are pros. I just wanted to help, that's all; I know that many of you can play up to the end without cheating, but actually I dare say this is not cheating; in my opinion they did it on purpose -- that is, you CAN cheat if you wish, which is not always available in other games. Anyway, the idea was to help those who, like me, couldn' get to the end. And you know? It's equally challenging that way. Cross my heart!

If you have gotten to level 55 and spent 14 hours on that level I don't think you can say the game wasn't worth it. Even if you paid $20. For that money the most movies you could have seen was 3 and that would have only entertained you for 6 to 7 hours tops.

Hi, Englishrose! I've been playing Cradle of Rome for a while now and haven't been able to get past level 61 or 62. I had no idea that you could cheat. (Not sure that I'm ready for that.) I thought my issues were from trying to play on a laptop.

This is a fun game. I get frustrated, but keep coming back to it. I get further when I am able to use the bombs or lightning bolts. The timers help, too. Remember that when you add time but don't use it all, you get extra points for the unused time. You can also be rewarded with more lives, but I'm not sure what generates them.

Keep playing. I'm confident that we'll both get to the end. It wouldn't be any fun if it was too easy, would it?
