Pirateville screen objects disappearing when you click the screen.

When Playing the demo version of this game I click on the the desired object and part if not all the objects on the screen will disappear. If im lucky and only part of the screen objects disappear an I can find the next object the screen objects will reappear until I click on another object, I have updated all video and sound drivers, everything is updated including intel drivers. Im running windows xp, 3.ghz dell pentium 4 processor, with 3rd service pack installed. Any ideas on how to correct this... I havent tried changing screen sizes yet. But will shortly. Any help?
