If there's trouble with getting Fish Tycoon to work correctly, we highly recommend going to our Help pages. Using our Help pages is always the quickest way to get technical problems resolved. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people correct these types of problems in the past:

In some cases, we can provide a known solution for technical issues in the Forums. In addition, some of our tech savvy pond residents may also swim by with good tips and suggestions. However, we're unable to provide the same excellent level of support provided by our Customer Support team. I recently upgraded my Mac to Yosemite (OS 10.10.2) and when I click on Fish Tycoon it takes me to the exit screen on Game Manager. I never even see the game itself on my dock, just the "Play Again" button.

Is there an updated version of the game?

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and now Fish Tycoon won't launch. Sometimes I see a very pixeled main menu screen briefly with weird colors. I just got Fish Tycoon, any possible way to make it work?

I'm sorry to hear that there is some trouble getting this particular game to launch and play on your computers.

and sequoke, looking at the game page the requirements for this game are OS X 10.4 and 10.5. It sounds like you are both running OS X 10.10 and this game is incompatible with that operating system. Please reach out to our Customer Support Team so that they can look into getting a replacement for you.

burchcd, it may be helpful to look at the following help article for hints:

Got my Win 10 issue with this game fixed. The article suggested by support didn't have the answer but it did at least get me started down the right past. My success came in choosing "Troubleshoot Compatibility" after right clicking on the .exe file for the game, and letting the troubleshooting wizard try multiple settings until it was finally fixed. If others aren't getting success with the suggested support article I would recommend using the troubleshooting compatibility option.
