Has anyone bought this game?? It looked neat, but I am unsure about buying games w/o a trial. Any advice??
Boy, I was half asleep when I first wrote that...But I've edited it and now it's really readable.

Yeah, cspmbs, I did. I've also bought/played White Wolf of Icicle Creek and Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. Have Deception Island but haven't (finished) playing it yet.
They have some pretty nifty twists and turns, but are forgiving if you miss a task or 2 here and there. They're also forgiving if you should do something dumb like blow yourself up...you always get 2nd and 3rd chances to rectify your mistakes. I've died a few times, myself. I also like the dialogue, the interaction amongst characters and the part I can play in it. Some folks don't like that, but...
Anyway, they might not have much in the way of, what's that word? replayability, but I haven't had them long enough to see if I can go back several months down the road and have another go at it. I guess I'd give them umm, 3 1/2 to 4 stars. Even if you just get one game you'll figure out whether or not you like it enough to try or not to try another down the road.
You didn't ask, but my favorite big file adventure was Journey to the
Center of the Earth, and my least favorites are Ghost and Voyage.
Don't know why, just can't seem to get into them.
Hope that helps - give it a shot. Better yet, see if you like White Wolf
of Icicle Creek first.
Theresa
PS Pardon me for asking, and you certainly don't have to answer,
but just what is cspmbs?

Dear Theresa,
It's a knick-name my boyfriend made up for me when we first got together almost 4 yrs ago. It started out just pm, then quickly turned into pmbs, then cspmbs. I can't actually say it because almost all of it is not suitable to display, and some would find it offensive. But I never have a problem coming up with a user name. So far, no one else has it wherever I've been online. But thanks for inquiring...you're the first to ask! And thanks for the advice!! You can call me Tracy if it's easier to type, and that goes for all the fish in the pond!

Thank you. Tracy it is. Screen names are worse than personalized
licence plates. Now I'm going to go back and read the new thread
about some of the others.
Theresa
PS Now I'm really curious about what those letters stand for. I think
I can figure out the pm part. Would you tell me if I posted my email
address??

My hubby and I are Nancy Drew fans and have almost all of them. Would like to get a few from BF, but living out in the Country we can only get dial-up and down loading them is just out of the question. We will have to wait for retail to get them.
It took more than 15hours to get Amazon. Glad I joined BF, and looking forward to reading more from the pond!

I love the Nancy Drew series of games, and up until the Haunted Carousel, bought and played everyone off BF
But after buying Haunted Carousel and it not playing on my computer I gave up.
I downloaded a demo of Nancy Drew: Creature of Kapu Cave off BF and that works fine, so don't know why Haunted Carousel won't work.
Its a shame, as I see a few new Nancy Drew games I would just love to get, but won't waste my money now in fear they won't work.

Poodlebear wrote:I have had issues with some of the earlier Nancy Drew games like this one that have an Arcade element. In this one you have to play an Arcade game to advance at one point and it would not work with my keyboard at all. It was a brick shooter type and the arrow keys would work only sporadically. I had a similar issue with the Deception Island whale game but managed to get past that. This one stopped me cold. I did some research and yes, it was a known problem, but since it's an older game and only some keyboards they have no plans to fix it. Niiiiice. So, just a warning. I've had no issues with any of the games from Blackmoor Manor on.
I had issues with the pong game- you would barely touch the key and it would zoom across... I had to get hubby to play

toninew wrote:where is ingrid after you go to the carousel how do i get past the armed card reader to speak to ingrid anybody please help or tell me what i did wrong
To fix the card reader on the roller coaster you need to insert the resistor into the circuit board close to the right of board. Solder both ends of resistor. Follow the top wire on the resistor & solder in a line six places in all staying on top half of board, turn the switch to .It you did it correctly, Nancy should say, “ that should do it”. Now take the red tag back to Harlan and he will turn on the power.
