Problems with Safecracker

[Post New]by BronaghBop on Dec 27, 07 12:49 PM
Hi All
This is my first time using a forum so I hope it's ok asking a bit of a random question. I've bought Safecracker (there's no trial available). There's no tutorial, no help, I can't even exit without using the task manager. Is there something I'm missing or do you think there's a problem with the game? I'd be grateful for any tips anyone can offer me
Thanks

There are a number of help topics available if you Google - safecracker walkthroughs. The not being able to exit w/o using task manager sounds like a problem. Try uninstall and redownload or send an email to BFG help.

We really need a forum for other BFG games. Is anybody at BFG listening?

Good luck!

I agree that we need a general forum for all BigFish games. Please, leaders, start one soon.

Safecracker-- I found a web site that really helps for hints with this game HINTS ONLY. I still have not gone through this game. Can we set up a forum for this game too.

I have finally opened 3 safes but it makes me dizzy going from room to room.
Right click to see map and to exit from door on bottom right.

I also get dizzy moving around in the game. This was not the best idea for navigation! I am also having problems exiting the game, but I haven't tried the right-click suggestion. I will try that next time I play.

You all are lucky. I can't find the clue to even getting into the main door. I have finished the puzzles in the side rooms but I still haven't found the numbers to open the main door. Have looked on the walkthrough and hint sites, but they talk about the earlier game. No telephone booth in the new one. Help!!

Hi Madstitcher54,

When you say you can't get through the main door, do you mean the first door you see when you first enter the game, the one in the front hall? I am a little confused because you wrote that you did the puzzles in the side rooms. I was only able to do ONE of the puzzles before going through that main door.

If that is the door you cannot get through, I think I may be able to help. In the room on the far right of the house on the front, the small corridor, there is the puzzle with the 3 rings and the grey, red, blue, and green spots. When you solved that one the cabinet opened and there were 2 things inside: a transistor and a piece of paper. The piece of paper has the combination to the main door.

If you cannot see that piece of paper, make sure you right click to see the map and what you have picked up. At the bottom will be a bunch of boxes which will hold the things you've picked up as you move through the house. Click on the box with the piece of paper in it. By the way, if the piece of paper is not showing in a box, it may still be in there. There are more boxes at the bottom that what show on the screen. You can scroll through them with little arrow -like things just above the boxes.

I hope this helps you. Now I am going to ask for help from people.

I am currently stuck somewhere else. I have gotten as far as solving the 3 puzzles in the basement and the one in the kitchen, but I still can't get all of those on the ground floor. I solved one of the other combination puzzles simply by trying all possible 3 digit combinations in order, but I don't want to go through that for the other 4 digit combinations. I think there must have been a clue for the 3-digit combination that I missed somewhere. The combination I am talking about (I think) is the one from the office into the service area. Does anyone know if there was a clue somewhere for it?

Also, does anyone know how and when (and if) we'll be using all the diary pages and letters lying around?

One combo. I am stuck on is the one on that weird machine in the middle of the museum. I've noticed that when you type a combination in the two outer digits are dark and the center two are light and I think that must be a clue of some sort, but I don't know what it means. I have tried various things, but nothing is working. Can anyone give me a clue?

I just downloaded Safecracker last night, and I gotta say this is more like a Safecracker 2 for me. I had the original PC game many eons ago and it's nothing at all like this newer game, layout-wise. The original PC game started outside at night across the street. The first puzzle was a musical puzzle to open the gates to gain access to the house. And it really wasn't a house, more like a townhouse/museum of safes. This newer game seems to have more of a plot and a reward system (access to newer rooms), which is fine by me.

Hi strawberrirose1 - welcome to the forums!

You might find some help in the forums for this game here:

I am stuck on the ground floor. I've got all of the safes with the exception of one of games in the museum. When I go to inventory and click on the map, it doesn't go to the other floors. I'm still stuck on the ground. I am sure the clue to unlock the last safe in the museum is in another room on the ground floor but I can't get there. Can someone help? Thanks!
