Tips and Tricks for Yosumin

[Post New]by bansama on May 27, 09 5:40 AM
I guess we could do with a thread for sharing tips and tricks, so here it is.

First off -- if you get a "secret" bonus, you will clear the board enitrely of the color used.
To get the "secret" bonus, you need to make 4 consecutive matches of the same color.
Or, you can make two consecutive matches of if you make perfect squares.
So, the fastest and easiest way to do this is to find 4 pieces of the same color grouped in a square and clear those. If there are two such groupings on screen, you can rid yourself of that color very quickly.

If you manage to clear the entire screen you'll get a "yosumin". The easiest way to do that, is to keep clearing whole colors by making squares as detailed above.

You also want to try and create as large a match as possible as the number of pieces deleted are totalled up, once you hit a specific number of total pieces cleared, you'll get a "treat" (power up) which should make things a little easier. Bigger matches also add time back to your timer.

Well I see a tips and tricks thread was already created for this...here are the ones we came up with!

Speedy Clock – The less you move the faster the clock will wind down in a level. If you are stuck on a target, just make a quick match to slow the clock and give you more time to find your next move.

Tricks and Treats – The better you play, the more treats you will earn from the Grand Goldmin to help you in your quest. Each treat is special and will help you in the levels to come, but use them wisely because they are given very sparingly. You can pick a treat you’d like to use before a level from the main stage menu.

Be A Square – There are extra bonuses for any square configurations cleared from the board in every level. The more squares of Yosumin you clear from the board, the more treats you’ll earn. Always be on the look out for any square opportunities!
