black bombs

I am having trouble exploding the black bomb. Does it trigger like other weapons with the space bar? I am wondering if maybe I am just too close to the enemy when I try to set it off.

I answered my own question. That did seem to be what to do.

You just drop it where you want it to go off and it should detonate in a 5 second countdown.
