I tried the game last, played it for an hour, as a matter of fact.
My opinion is pretty much the same as scotcat's (as always ) - I won't buy it unless I get real desperate.
Items are too small, it's somewhat boring, mini games are worthless, fixing up the stuff is a waste of time or , as we used to say at work, non-value added.
It's not a bad game, could be a time killer, but no great shakes.
Could it be that we're just spoiled???

Mini games Ok. Nothing too exciting.
Fixing up the junk to make it look good is kinda boring for me.
Doesn't look like a very long game except for the hours trying to find the small HO's.
I checked "Full Screen", but it only filled 3/4 of my screen.
I am going to wait for more reviews before I buy. Right now, it's a no-go. I already decorated 3 rooms in an hour.... not many rooms left.
I hope there's more to it than the rooms we see. Not sure what exactly I think might be there, but that can't be it. I bought it with a coupon I had and I like it alot. But I am gonna be so-o-o dis-appointed if that's all there is to it!

I pretty much have to agree with everyone here. I bought the game and completed the first game on night one. There is also a Yard Sale Tour you can play once you've decorated the home.
I thought the HO part was similar to Civil War too but the objects were a bit easier to find in Yard Sale. The idea behind repurposing (sp?) found items into usable decor is good but the execution sucks. The 100% complete after every step was boring and totally redundant. Also, I would have liked an option to play the game a second time without having to go thru the crafting scenarios.
I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars just because the crafting steps could have been executed better.
Confession time. I have almost every HO game out there. I love to buy them from Big Fish because, as a member, I only pay $6.99, the games last more than two hours and I'm hard pressed to find a movie that gives me that much entertainment for $7. Plus almost everyone of them has replay-ability which I can't say about many of the films I've watched.

One is in the tree and another is by the cauldron on the basement wall almost in center of the screen.
