Glitch in putting objects back?

At the beginning of Chapter 4, after the scene with the pipe you have to replace all the objects to cover your tracks. I have one object left, a silver statue-type thing, and I can see on the left side that it goes in the box, but the game will not let me put it there. I have looked through the whole scene for the cursor to turn green but it doesn't anywhere. I can't move on. Any suggestions?

I've already looked at the walkthrough on Gamezebo but that doesn't help.

It finally worked. I don't know why the 50th time was different from the other 49 times.
