Cradle of Rome - PC Version

[Post New]by fairhavenfish01 on Jun 9, 09 7:01 PM
Hi, all.

I looked in the "All Game Forums" first, before posting this, but it seems to be for the new Mac version only.

I have a few questions:

1) How do you get into a section that the game itself skipped? (I was not able to play the Gladiator area). I've gotten all the way to the Mount of Olympia, but cannot figure out how to get to the Gladiator area. Looking at the layout of the areas, it would seem that I should have had access to it before Mount Olympus....

2) How do you get the ? to go away in mill and forum (it says play more skilfully and get a super bonus that helps you to build the city quicker)

3) Is there any way of playing this in an untimed mode?

I am addicted, can you tell???? LOL

I'm bumping my own thread, since it got no responses - hopefully this evening someone will take pity on me....

Hi fairhaven! This is a great game and has been my go-to-game for years!

1. This sounds like a possible glitch in the game. But have you purchased a shield yet?

2. Make 15 effective moves successively after buying the Mill.

3. I don't think so because one of the "powerups" is the hourglass.

This link takes you to the games PC version of the forums. Not sure why its missing from the all games forums.

Enjoy this game and remember it is beatable. I am addicted too!

Thank you, Cyndo.

I'll let you know how it goes. I do enjoy it, and will continue to strive to beat it!

Did you ever try Cradle of Persia? If so, is it different at all?

Yvw Fair!

Please do let me know how the battle goes.

I did try Cradle of Persia and absolutely hated it. It is nothing like this game. Try the hour demo and see what you think though. Its a linking instead of swapping game. Maybe I should try it again lol...... You never know.

Hey fairhaven,

It looks like our automated forum-creating system made two forums, but only made the Mac one visible on the "All Games" list. I've gone ahead and condensed the forums, so there should now be one Cradle of Rome forum for both Mac and PC discussion and moved this thread there.

Hopefully you'll find some answers here, as per Cyndo's suggestion, if you still need help (I'd offer my but I haven't played this one ).

Cheers!

I'm an older player and enjoy cradle of rome. I find that if I begin at the bottom, the top portions fairly well take care of themselves. Pay attention to how the matched items are set when you first go in a new level, often you are already set up to break the chains easily. Make the matches as fast as you can. That will get you many more of the helpers. If possible, try to keep them as you go further into the levels to help you. I'm past emperor and orator, somewhere in the 70's and still have many lives left. I haven't needed to cheat. Just try to make your matches quickly and don't give up. The fun is in the challenge. The only thing I have against it, is that it's hard to leave it and do other things you need to get done. Have fun!
