Time Stand Still - I can't figure it out

I spent almost the entire day downloading the game, and cannot play it because I can't figure it out.
Someone help me!

It took me forever to figure out the first part of East Side Story.

I haven't downloaded this yet, because we are upgrading to higher-speed cable internet today (yay!) rather than the laughable "high-speed" internet provided by the phone company.

So I will download it tomorrow and see if I can play.

I will be honest and say that I would never ever have made it through East Side Story without the online walkthrough.

Hopefully someone will produce a walkthrough or break down and buy the strategy guide and help us all out. I searched for one one the web but did not find anything.

I'm with you....this sounded like a fun game, but I can't get past the first room! Since I downloaded it from Big Fish, I don't have the "read me" text it talks about. Is there even a "help" section in this thing???

I've been disappointed too with TSS. I don't mind buying the strategy guide if I can't figure out the puzzles, etc. But, like everybody else here, my complaint is that there is no instructions. I like challenges on gameplay, but not on making the game do something.

For a 400Mb game (with no demo), it sure has been disappointing.

i agree a 100% I will neverdownload a game without the demo . It is a waste of my Money

I have broken down and gone to sites with walk-through solutions. I found that the game is not fun any longer. Once it is solved for me, there is no more purpose to it.

Try more of everything and when you make the discovery that leads to the next step in finding the final solution, you will feel great!!

Come on, you paid your money, waited for the download, now take the challenge!!

When you have talked to everyone, go back and talk to them again. Something, somewhere will have changed.

I got stuck for a long time trying to get the crowbar out of the water, until I finally realized that combining the fishing pole with the metal detector was the answer. Its those "AHA!" moments that make the game rewarding.

Look for the door with the mail slot. When you hold your cursor over the handle, you should see the word "EXIT" appear in red.

The door is next to the coat closet, and en route from living room to kitchen.

I have been pretty happy with all the games I have downloaded from Big Fish so I trusted that they would sell a game without a demo unless it was worth it.

I am very dissapointed, it doesn't come with a help section, there is no "read me" file like it says and I can't figure it out at all....

I have a problem buying a game and then not having a choice and basically being forced to purchase the strategy guide if I ever want to be able to use the game...

There has got to be another way to figure this out with out costing more money.

The reason that Big Fish doesn't provide a demo for some games is that some game developers never made a demo for that particular game. If a demo is not available, there is nothing Big Fish can do to re-engineer the game to create a demo.

I finished the game and posted a review with general tricks and tips in "point and click adventure fans" post here on the "Time Stand Still" forum if you'd like to check it out.

The developer's website (which I can't post the address of, I have learned my lesson) actually has a demo. It's about 55M and just contains a portion of the game.

I purchased the strategy guide, but I can't find a way of opening it. I changed my screen resolution thinking that my present resolution was to large for the screen to show the full page and still cannot find a way to open this. I have gotten pass the apartment and have gone to several sites, but this game is still a mystery.

margree, it's my understanding that you cannot have the game and the strategy guide open at the same time.

I bought the game, and found a great walkthrough. However, I can't find the knife in the herb garden area. I've been to the site of the creators of the game. It was interesting, but wasn't much help. So, if anyone has found the knife, please let me know.

I do not have the game open. I cannot find a way to open this strategy guide. I have launched it from my desktop as well as clicked on it in the BFG Tab. I still cannot
get the guide to open.

I recall the knife being on a picnic/fishing type wood deck by the river

Hi margree- welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having difficulties. I would contact tech support about your problem. They are fantastic and will be able to assist you.

If I don't get this stupid music shut off I'll go nuts. There is nothing in the options box for volume and sound controls. I have a headache from listening to the same few notes being played over and over and over again. Someone please help or I'll want my money back to get another game.
