Aveyond 1: Weapons help?

[Post New]by karin85213 on Jun 15, 09 11:23 AM
I'm trying to get to the first druid, but I keep dying because I'm using items from Veldarah. Is there any other weapons shop that sells higher level gear? I've been to the Northern area, but that sells the same items as the shop in Veldarah. Help?

All of the best gear is either hidden in the goodie caves (locations unknown) or in other countries not accessible to you yet. If you are in Land's End, my advice is to stock up on health potions or food, lightning scrolls and more advanced experience levels. Also, try to avoid the monsters if possible and leave the area to replenish your party's health at the inn frequently. Save frequently too.
I must admit, there are a few chests on Mt. Orion that do contain a bit more advanced weaponry but nothing of killer quality.
I never try for the Druid until I've mastered the Memory Caverns and have achieved 20+ experience levels. Those Earth Nymphs are too tough.

I completely agree. I'm starting over (lost my save game. argh!) and just found a cutlass in a chest while fighting bees and manticores near the memory caves. It boosted my attack score from 10 to 18, and suddenly I wasn't wasting as much magic to stomp those pesky critters. Doubtless those ravens on the cliffs above the Wildwoods will be easier, too. Watch out, vampires! I'm coming to getcha!

If you don't want to spend the time looking for chests to loot, the developer has a goodie you can download that will give you a level 30 boost and excellent weapons and armor when you become a slave in Galarah. Yes, you'd have to start over, but if you're struggling with making it through the game it could be what you need to boost your ability and let you enjoy the game more fully.

There aren't any goodie caves in Aveyond 1. That was a development in Av 2 and beyond.

Also, the developer installed a couple of easter eggs in the game. One will allow you to have the ability to obtain the items you need in the shops should you opt out of the goodie mentioned above.

Ahhh, thanks for the clarification Hrslvr, now I remember why I downloaded the cash cow so long ago.

It is a struggle to make any headway doing it the old fashioned way, but having lots of gold in one's pocket eases a lot of frustrations.

Where are the easter eggs? and what are they? I did find the cash cow (totally by mistake but thank goodness I found it).

I did it the old-fashioned way, no goodies at all! There is a bronze sword in a chest on Mt. Orion that helps a *lot*.

If you join the Adventurer's Guild at the inn in Wildwoods and bring back a dead vampire, you get access to better armor, ect. from the innkeeper.

I need to level up more before going into Wildwood. I tried and I was killed with the first attacks. Their attacks do 300+ damage!!!!! I had to exit that area. I am currently in Tea Cup town area. I at least have a cutlass instead of the practice sword. That helps some but still tough.

Agreed, it is tough. I have played all four of the Aveyond games now, and this one is by far the hardest, at least in the beginning stages.

I found the wolves on the Northern island were the best for leveling up. You can run into and out of the town and stay at the inn to rejuvenate.

And once you have got up to a certain level, you can go back to the Academy and learn better spells for Rhen and Lars. Assuming you left some empty slots in their schedules.

Good luck, and remember--save early, save often!
