I normally love all the games casualgran and goofyduck do and if there is no timer, skip button, a good review from them and I like the preview video I just buy. In all 240 games I have only had 1 not play and 1 other be buggy, my gaming lappy will play anything. If you've read my reviews you know I'm not big on trials. However with very strongly felt mixed reviews I will.

Usually what a lot of fish hate I love for some reason lol. I think I like dialog, story, a lot of reading, great cut scenes and tons of H0 scenes more than most perhaps. *shrugs*

So I tried this game. I it! The graphics are amazing, everyone that said it has a movie feel was dead on. I felt just like I was in a big budget blockbuster flick. I liked the voice overs NOTE TO DEVELOPERS: Thank you for giving us a separate voice volume option!! I hate it when I turn down the music and then I can't hear the dialog.

I didn't find the voices annoying at all, in fact IMHO they were pretty good compared to a lot of other games. With the fabulous cut scenes, you want to watch them, enjoy the graphics and really be immersed (no pun intended) in this "movie", not be forced to read the subtitles and miss those beautifully done scenes. Although there is an option to have subtitles at the bottom of the screen, if you need/want them.

LOVE the hunt for personal items. Reminds me of morphing objects and adds another game with in a game.

I have a 17" screen, and had no trouble finding the H0s at all. I found them rather easy actually, was not expecting that from the reviews. Maybe I got different H0s? Did not check if they change with a new game.

Really have mixed feelings about it being a CE and BFG not releasing it as one though. On one hand I could not afford it or use a credit (yet), on the other... I would have loved to seen more of this game and an alternate ending would have added some replay to it as well. *sigh* hate to say it but please BFG give us the option of CE/SE on games with this level of graphics and story.

This is a definite buy for me.

I give it for voice overs, graphics, ease of how it plays (using items, no tiny hot spots on H0s, no lag load time between scenes etc) a nice challenge without being frustrating, story and lots of H0 scenes. I don't care about length, all games are long for me as I take my time enjoy, take breaks etc.

Happy Gaming all!

Reading thru this game forum, noticing how some members wondered why BF didn't offer this game as a C.E. before....IMO, maybe BF felt this game wasn't worth the 13.99 for their members to spend, and just decided to wait and offer it to us as the S.E., think so?

dissapointed overall

ok... just finished the game. not the best game I've played, but far from the worst. I had zero computer issues with it, no freezing, or skipping. The hints did not work throughout the game.

The game sorely needed an editor. you are at one time given a "key" and a cresent wrench shows up in your inventory. As I mentioned in another post, the list asks for a baseball when the object is a baseball BAT. and, as others have mentioned, sometimes items are in the HOG scenes in more than one place and you have to pick the right one.

overall, I am dissapointed. I feel like I paid full price for a beta game. still some kinks need to be worked out.

I agree. There is no way I would have paid $13.99 for this game after playing the demo. Frankly there is no way I'm going to pay $6.99 either.
This game is totally inane! Kid drowning, wait, have to find stuff (thank you Slepless777), kid now stuck in pool, wait, have to find stuff. Steward under chandelier, wait, he's not dead?! I can suspend my disbelief as well as the next person but this was just a bit too much. Oh, before you save him, go find stuff.

Thought the game was good but VERY short! The mini-puzzles were not that difficult.

Ghosts and ghoulies and long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night, I can cope with. Realistic situations with kids in deadly peril, not for me. Looks like a good game, great graphics, and I had no trouble running it, but it's just not for me.

This was my only complaint as well and I actually came to the forums to see if I was just being a wimp or if this bothered anyone else, lol. My toddler is usually sitting somewhere near me playing while I am gaming and hearing the kid in the game calling out while I franticaly rushed through hidden object scene after scene trying to save him...it was a bit much. I still may buy though because the game is put together quite well , the aforementioned aside.

Hi fishes. After the helicopter scene it went to load and never did.All I got was loud music with singing voices and it got louder and louder. five minutes way to long to load something very wrong with game.Three minutes pasted by and that's what i lost when I opened the game again.Maybe that's an omen not to download game possible will cause computer problems.Happy gaming every one.

So I downloaded the game because it looked really good. Started to play it - saw the opening and was even more excited. Then the game started to load. It continued loading over 7 minutes. Then I realized that something was not working. Had to get out of the game which was not easy. Unfortunately, not able to play. Too bad - it looked good.

Leanda! is a Happy Fish

Wow guy's WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Based upon my favorite reviewers, I was totally ready to buy without playing. Gotta say so glad I at least tried 5 minutes, as that was as much as I could stand. Bought a LARGE screen heavy laptop last year to enjoy my games in a really big full screen (also helps with these OLD eyes to find things!). With this game I might as well have been playing on my iPhone!!
I agree with the other reviewers who hated the little boy screaming (even in only 5 minutes did it get annoying) and the music was just WAY over the top! Plus the mom is looking for "tommy, denise, & jimmy" no last name and the helicopter guys say "no they haven't been rescued? Like on a cruise ship there can only be ONE tommy, denise & jimmy??? Who does he think he is ??

this game was a total disappointment I can't think what CasualGran, GoofyDuck, Dr.Good & Cherbtoo were thinking!! Come on guys get back on track HUH??

Please note: I thought I made it clear in my review that I did not like it. Sorry for the misunderstanding. When I give credit to another fishie by telling them what a great job they did. I am not agreeing with their opinion, I am expressing my opinion on the quality of their post...not the content necessarily.

Well, I'm enjoying it! I love the graphics, and the objects are difficult (for me anyway) to find, and I like a challenge.

darkdisciple, I'm with you on the weird objects thing...I never understood the "doom is about to descend upon me, but first let's find this hair ribbon" stuff in games.

But, this is the way I've since justified it to myself. I think of it as I'm not really looking for those objects, but rather moving aside those objects as I look for the really useful ones.

Not sure that made sense outside of my own head, but that's the way I think of it.

Happy gaming to you all!

My kind of game; Might be too many H0 scenes for some,
but I like them. Great reviews here on the 1st page, told
me enough so that I didn't go any farther to avoid possible
spoilers. Still in chapter 2 when demo ended so long enough
for me. Off to buy and play some more. Yea.

COMMENT

I always read the reviews before I even demo. This game had me wishing for the CE! After reading all the reviews I'm totally undecided. Since i already have a ton of games that I haven't played yet, I think I'll pass.

LOL - I sooo agree
and did have some issues with my laptop with Windows XP - the game kicked me out a couple of times but when reentered no real issue or lost play

A no buy for me

Ok game but not up to what I expect from BFG. Nice graphics, but a dull story and action line.
Finsihed it way too fast for what I expected.
if you had a rating system, I would give it a 4.

This game is quality plus... wow! The graphics, the sounds... everything is like watching a movie at the theatre.

But... it's not for me. Good game but I became overwhelmed with 4 or 5 objectives all at once which made me want to just throw up my hands and jump on that helocopter.

I like to solve my objectives one by one and the games lately have been throwing the list of chores at you left and right with just too many to do that you forget which one you are doing.

I was so tempted by the quality but afraid I would never finish it.

no new **** scenes...where do I find whatever I'm suppose to use to grab the keycard hanging from the lifeboat lines?

I agree it needs a walkthrough...if it has a walkthrough then I"m totally sold on the game, There's enough HOG scenes in this adventure panic driven game to keep me satisfied but I'm still wandering around enough wondering what the heck I"m supposed to do next. After the twentieth trip up and down between the bathroom floor that collapsed and the casino I give up. I'm not buying it without a walkthrough...sorry! It's just not worth that much frustration....looks like a great game other than that, but I do need some guidance...I can see how the CE might have been a good game I might have bought it just for the strategy guide, LOL!
The graphics are awesome and everything! I just don't like being lost for hours on end with no guidance whatsoever.

ETA: Well now! I just saw that they added the walkthrough! YIPPEE! WOO HOO! I am sooooooooo glad to see that! THANK YOU WHOEVER did that! It was VERY much needed! Well, off to use my last punch card coupon to purchase this game!
