good idea Small,

sorry I said the same thing, I guess I was typing while you were posting

On the other hand, I guess we're making a big deal out of nothing, it will be available in 30 minutes, not 30 days

LMFO! Well, it's all Picman's fault. He's the one who let us in on today's TGT.

I know and I'm so excited! I didn't think we'd be getting the new James Patterson for a long while!

Same here. I've replayed the first one several times already. And while I did the one hour trial on this sequel and wasn't as hooked on it as the first one - I'm still excited to have this released tonight.

I'll put this one on my "when I need a fix" list. I don't own the 1st WMC since I got lucky and played the whole game during a beta testing. Once I played it, I couldn't see any reason to play it again. I also have played the beta demo on this one and didn't like it as much as the first one. Much of the challenge has been taken out (such as the lab work)..... maybe because some people thought it was too hard or something. I just have a hard time buying a game like this with no real replay value. RTR is one of the exceptions since it was lengthy and so much more involved.

Ya'll have fun!

Well *mostly* very positive feelings about this one with some niggling pet peeves.

Untimed! Pretty much pure adventure puzzle with some "find all the pieces" HO stuff. I really like adventure puzzling so this is ok by me. The puzzles were varied, lots of different sorts including cyphers and sliders and too many to mention. Much variety. There is a solve button on the puzzles so you don't have to do any you hate. I did play them all, tho. I was very happy to see the return of the microfiche puzzle which was my fave from the first game, tho only got to play it twice and one was very easy. None of the puzzles were terribly difficult but most were enjoyable. Hints were plentiful, you got 5 per "investigation" (which I would have called chapter, at first I thought more than one case) and they accumulated. I think I only used 2 throughout the game. There is a well written full and detailed story. I wanted to know what happened and it kept things moving along. Graphics (with the exception of illustration, see below) where excellent and crystal clear.

The cut scenes were craaaaazy slow and you only had the op[tion to skip, not quick click through. I can't imagine anyone would take that long to read. I suspect this was designed to pad the length of the game. Yep, it's a short one. I finished in less than 3 hours and that was with letting all the cut-scenes play.. Another peeve was needing to click the close button on the dialog boxes that came up, then click the back button when finished with a close-up investgation screen. Why not just click once on the background and have it go there? There were several quick-click games but can't dock too many points on this because I was able to manage them all without too much fuss so most folks should have no problem at all. However my least favorite (the duck/farmer one) had to be played twice. The illustration in the cut scenes was kinda ugly, but that's just personal taste and me being picky.

So yes, Poodle Approved, a quality game, though I have to call in an extra paw (fin? ) to balance my negative/positive feelings. I give it a:

Well now ya see? This is proof of the difference in gamers, even those who normally agree - I found something really pleasing about that game - finding the right bottle, carefully dropping the tiny little drop - 1... 2... 3...

I am a bit disapointed as I would have liked just a bit more of HO in it to balance it out I wanted more than find the paper HOs

I didn't like that in the first one or in another game. Not too hard just tiresome for me. It is one of the reasons I didn't buy the first game.

I won't try the Demo yet considering how I felt about the first game and knowing that some more good games are coming up fast.

Nothing wrong with the first game, just was not something I liked.

I can't decide whether to buy this game. I beta-tested it and said I certainly would! The graphics are beautiful. The story is great. But I too am disappointed that the HO objects are pretty much the same. There can't be much replay value at all. There's another thread in the forum discussing length of games and suggesting we should be informed on the number of chapters to give us an idea. But I don't mind a short game as long as it has replay value. 'Peril at End House' I am replaying for the 4th time! And it's still beautiful and still has some replay value. Money's worth or what! The farmer and the duck game I didn't really understand. I matched the others by chance - just concentrated on finding the farmer and the duck. Was there any point to the crocodile? Also, with the excitement of other great HO games on the way, I may just hang on to the credit. Any advice fishes?

After waiting for this game to arrive after I'd beta tested it...

I got exactly what I was expecting. It's not the best HOG I've come across lately and certainly not near as good as the first one. But it was an entertaining three hours for me. Must agree with vicalana on the alligator eating the ducks mini-game. I understand the counter-top machine since they're popular in casinos and bars. But this one just didn't seem to fit with the overall feel of the game. Seemed out of place.

Anyways, while this game didn't wow me - I don't regret the purchase. For $6.99 and a few hours of fun - well worth it.

I noticed BFG's Blog has a walkthrough posted already. So any fishie stuck:

I played the demo and it did not hold my attention and I was bored with it. I bought the first WMC and only played it twice. I think I will pass on this one since like the first once you play it through nothing changes.

For those of you who like this series have a good time playing. It is not a bad game just not for me.

It seems to me that one drawback to Adventure games is poor replay value. These games have certain things that have to be done and those goals don't change in replay. Sometimes certain items must be collected and/or used to achieve the goal. These items will stay the same. It is fun to replay a game like this after you wait a while. if you are like me, you will forget a few things and the game will be fun again later. Play it again during the next "drought".

I play the old-fashioned HOs like "Huntsville" over and over. The item lists change so they have more replay value than some of the goal oriented newer games.

I always fall back on "Big Kahuna Reef 2", an all-time favorite for me. The levels are endless so it is always "new"
