Have played the game successfully for a few days, but got error message at startup myesterday "Assertion failed!" Nothing helps! Is there anybody out there who might know how to get the game going again?

I'm stuck at the part where I must set free the horses to save Ma and Pa. How do you do it? And am I supposed to repair the wagon with the dynamite? Please help me....

To free the horses, take your hero and gunslingers round to the right of the horses and have them shoot the water tower that is there, this will open the gate releasing the horses.

You need to blow up the wagon surronded with dynamite, if you scout round you should find one box of dynamite which you can use to get the rest going.

Send one thru and see where they end up before sending the 2nd one. You have to go back into one of them, and it takes u all the way out, but now I can't remember the sequence. Good luck!!

You buy the trees from the general store and then anyone can plant them, and you can buy dynamite from the gen store also to blow up the stumps. Anytime you unlock something, you normally then have to go where its now available to use the item, whether it be building something, or using items. Always check general store, as there are 3 items that show up later. Good luck!!

The last guy (the southern-most) is actually on a piece of land with a ramp. That's why you can't build a bridge.

Try to access him from the water. It took me forever to figure this out and it was largely a mistake when my hero walked up there.

Mine said the exact same thing!!! I contacted tech support and the lady said numerous people were getting these messages and BFG should be posting an update soon...hopefully...because I'm addicted too and only got to play the game for two days then it did the same thing. I don't know what the assertion thing is at all! =P Oh, computers.

I am dying to play this game....HOWEVER...when I try to open the game to begin play I receive and error stating that "Hardware failed to switch to specified mode" 3 times, then Error:Access violation (some sort of code) then tried to rewrite to another code. Anyone that could provide help, I would really appreciate it! Also, I tried BFG's suggestion to contact McAfee, they were no help, told me to uninstall and reinstall security suite...nothing.

I am playing Westward III. I am trying to free the Lumberjacks. Is there a special order that you do this? I have tried several ways and cannot get to free the last one no matter which way I free them. Someone please help! Great game but I'm getting very frustrated.

Hi all! I´m at the first town, finished all available quest except for building 3 gold water mines (forgot the name) and I can´t get to the third gold spot. Blocked by a bolder. Bought dynamite from the guy for 50 gold but used it to get to the hidden supplies. I´ve built the general store but it says dynamite is sold out. I´ve got the dynamite licence but can´t figure out how to get the dynamite! Please help!

To get dynamite: Once someone is employed in the General Store, it takes a minute or two, but dynamite will show up - someone has to be employed there, though.

I had a post before asking if anyone knows how to get the white rabbit? But it is gone. I have killed the deer, but all I get are the regular rabbits for them to shoot. How do you get the white bunny? Does anyone know?

You get the white bunny as the result of activating the Perfect Gift Quest which starts by finding Jeffery (?) a red flower (select a person and then click on a flower box). The white bunny appears if you have a few carrot farms and a chicken ranch, I think. This is a very involved series of quests that culminates in finding the black Stallion. Have fun and good luck.

Same problem here!!! IRRITATING!!! Have you got any help yet?? I'm trying to surf other game sites if there is any help available... Please, inform us here if you get any help from BFG, patches or .. well anything else than start the game all over again...

I had real trouble with this as well but when i did the quest for the third time he asked for gold instead of the wood! Much easier! Can anyone tell me where I can find the fish for the Chili contest quest? I´ve caught quite a lot but it doesn´t seem to be the right kind...

To get the silver ring, you have to have a blacksmith, go to the sivermine rocks near the tunnel leading out of town.
