I have been playing HOG games for about 3 yrs.. This game was just too easy & no challenge.. won't be buying this one either. i guess the adventur HOG games spoiled me. I like the challenge..

I redemoed the game on another site, just to say I finished the game. took me a total of 1 hour 52 minutes ( and I took my time ) Finishing the game did not alter my original comment in the thread that the game is not worthy of my time or expense.

As an aside to sillyfeet, there are a myriad of posts from fish who in much detail said why they liked or disliked the game. You should be able to determine the viability of Mary Celeste ( in your own mind ) from these comments plus your own demo without
taking to task those who expressed a dislike for the game sans commentary.

I'd agree with you if most of the posters just used the word " sucked " but ultimately the decision must be your own. OK, I'm off my soapbox now. One last thing, I'd like to know is what sillyfeet's ultimate decision about Celeste.

I got to where the doctor was on the island with the hoodoo woman and the locket was in the middle bottom of the screen....but for some reason the brightness and fog wouldn't completely go away...and I clicked on the picture of the little girl and nothing happened....although the picture showed clearly in the inventory list....couldn't go on because of that....so I'm stuck. I don't know whether to uninstall and re-install the entire game or what to do.

This one sounds like my speed. I can't belive I only discovered HOGs this year. I've spent the last 3 years immersed in Second Life and not much else.

Ok, I'm going to come across as almost as whining and negative as the main character in this game, but I want to add my opinion, just as I would add positive comments to a game which I enjoyed.

Firstly, I found the slowness of items going into the inventory really annoying, especially in the magnifying glass scenes. I found myself still clicking on things after everything had been found, only to realise that I had actually finished with that scene and it was just taking its time to close. Added to that, I also found that I was clicking on items randomly without even looking at the required objects list. No penalty, no interest IMO.

Secondly, it was really irritating that, having successfully completed a mini game, I was trying to see what else I needed to do, only to realise that I had to close the dialogue box before it would allow me to progress.

The last thing I would like to add is that, on the third 'get the matchstick, matchbox and light the lantern (yawn), I did exactly that, but accidentally clicked, probably too quickly, on the magnifying glass scene (the bag), which took me to that. When I had found all the objects in there and was returned to the room, the lantern had failed to light and the matchstick and matchbox had disappeared from the inventory. I therefore found myself in a completely dark room, and was clicking madly in the hope that I would find something through sheer luck. Maybe this is a glitch, but it certainly reinforced my decision that this game is one to be avoided at all costs. I would rather replay other HOGs that I have already purchased. I give it a massive

As stated in my review, I chose not to buy.

I agree with several of the blogers who thought the game was boring. The graphics are beautiful, but don't make up for the boredom. I really prefer a game with a little ease ordinarily. The demo games are a great help in saving money, because a game that looks like a great one on first glance, might turn out to be off the mark in play. Thanks BF. I wll always buy from BF if they have the game I want!!

Downloaded this game from a different website and it didn't chuck me out after 1 hour so got to play the full game. Wish I hadn't bothered. Took me under 2 hours to finish (seemed much longer) with reading all the dialogue, and there was a lot of it. Less than half way through I was hoping she'd just jump overboard.

No challenge at all. Not sure if it qualifies as an HOG if the items aren't actually hidden. Mini games very easy and repetitive.

Only reason I carried on playing is because I hate quitting anything, but really should have made an exception with this one.

I was very bored but bought it anyway. I was irritated by having to move my cursor up to "close" in every chapter. I agree with everyone else who thought it is a very good game for a beginner hogger. Hey, they can't all be Ravenhurst.

This will be one game I will not be buying. I LOVE HOG games but somehow this just did not engage me.It would be a good starter for anyone new to the HOG games but from one who likes a little more of a challenge I will give this a miss.

Everything about this game was boring. It was way too easy, the graphics were substandard and the soundtrack was crap. I played for 20 minutes hoping it would get better then gave up and went back to playing Department 42.

Yeah it sucks ok! was dark, dingy, boring & when all saaid & done made no sense either WHAT a waste of money especially with great games lately
The only thing to look forward to is 'THE END' by when you will be totally bored [worst game ever except Ransome of Seven Ships] they both belong in the garbage

[never thought to say that about a Nancy Drew as I have every 1 ever made & usually love them & replay several times] but this last 1 stinks & I quite honestly thought I would never find a worse 1 but Mary Celeste well that even beat it,I can't think of 1 good thing about it

Liked the game which was surprising because I don't like Hidden games. It was easy but the storyline was a little hard to follow and I did not like the way it ended. That was a little hard to follow. What happened to her?

I was very disappointed in this games ending. All the time you think your getting her someplace and then the ending? nothing, goes no where, leaves you in mid air. I can not even see it allowing for a follow up game. it took forever to get through and then zip!

Very boring! No Challenge! Items were not identified and I could not tell what I was picking up. Skip this one and save your money!

I have finished this game last weekend. It was a great pleasure, but a little bit short (only 2 1/2 hours for me) and the end was very bad (like shibas said).
