I did try out the 60 minute trial of Curse of the Emerald Tear. I thought it lame in many way's but mostly... too freakin' easy. Both the HO's and the mini-games. The music pretty much sucked and the freakin' cursor wanted a mind of its own.
My vote on Curse of the Emerald Tear:

I don't mind some Match 3's. Like 4 Elements totally rocks. But the Match 3 in this game was lame as all get out.

Redrum was way too easy. Didn't grab my attention. Too much story, not enough good game!

I'm downloading the game as I write this - it will beinteresting to see if I like it or not.
I tried Princess Bride and am stuck on the 3rd level - just not good with that time management stuff.
By the way, sometimes, when I have trouble finding things I tilt my screen forwards (I have a flat screen) and that helps sometimes.

Exactly! Take away the "pretty face" and you are left with no substance. I have already played 1/2 the game (Redrum), so I probably won't buy it. I had 50 hints built up and finally quit looking for roses because I didn't care anymore. Too easy and I hated that one mini game that kept coming up after every level.
As far as the story goes...... I own the DVD of Sixth Sense and can watch that again.

I'm not finished yet, but am about 2 hours in. What puzzle do you need help on?

Been playing for 2 hours(including the demo time), so worth a game credit. I'm enjoying it. The mini puzzles are a little different than usual.

You have to collect the 5 numbers in the room. Once you do that, the journal will open and give you the correct order.

Hi Sta38sim and Prp. The game took me to a sukodon (spelling) puzzle and they said it will open the safe. Heck I didn't even get a chance too look at my journal. Bam right into the puzzle. And I loathe those puzzles. And your darn tootin'. Ten minutes is a steep price to pay. You can skip the puzzle and get the ten minute penalty, but if you run out of time, you get set back to do the last two or three rooms you did plus go back to the same puzzle you skipped. So what I did was skipped it again took the ten penalty, and they pretty much gave u the same list you had when you skipped it the first time and I just started hunting and using hints until I passed the part totally. Well I don't know if this would help anyone but I figure if I have to do it again just memorize a lot of the objects and start clicking. The game rocks. Nice graphics, music sound affects, and I asked my cat what that cat was screaming about on the game, of course no reply. Thanks
Sassy

Short is a relative concept. I played 2 hours and believe I am nearing the end. If someone has finished ****w many chapter books end up on the table? After my 2 hours I think I have 5. BUT everyone plays at different rates of speed of course. I have found this game mildly challenging, have used my hints as they come up, the puzzles are challenging but they are not on the timer so I have completed all of them. Each "chapter" has about a 40 minute timer, give or take, but I always had a good 20 minutes left at the end of each one.
Oh for crimmeny sakes, the curse of the H O has struck *sheesh* that was h o w many chapters.
...oh wanted to add I bought it on the strength of the 1 hour. For me the formula is: likely to get me 2+ hours of enjoyment = cost of movie = worth it. A movie here these days costs $7 and last 1.5 hours and I can't go in my jammies.
