I can't access Flickr when I use the link you gave. Any ideas how I can access your pictures (the 3 larger pictures)? Thanks for your help!

This is the link to the main photo stream for all my pictures. The 3 large ones are first, followed by the one smaller one of the Holmes safe puzzle, then followed by the solution to the slider in the Natalie Brooks game.

Shangoya, There are two puzzles on this level. The message to decode and the head bands for the ladies wigs. There is a pencil drawing on white paper on the dresser that shows three shapes of ladies wigs. There are three head bands around the room. You have to get the headbands and put them on the correct wigs based on what is shown in the pencil drawing.

annh25: you seem to be a wizard with these games - I'm impressed. I'm stuck on the box puzzle with the numbers - I finally got that one done only to be stuck on the string puzzle which made me run out of time. I find I just don't have the patience it takes to sit and try and try. But, I'll finish it even if it takes me months :-)

There is a patch available so you can choose between Timed and Untimed Modes for this game. I emailed Frogwares and this is the email I received in return. I haven't installed this because the time doesn't bother me but if you would like it, here is the email. Or you can email frogwares and request the information directly from them. Here is the email that I used for Frogwares. games@frogwares.com

Email from Frogwares:

You can download patch from here: ftp://frog_patch:VRfihmaeo8@lecos.com.ua/001.rar

To install patch you need:
1) unpack 001.rar file (using any archive program, for example 7Zip – free download here http://www.7-zip.org/download.html ) – you’ll get a folder “001”

2) copy 001 folder into the installation folder, by default it is c:\Program Files\The Mystery of the Persian Carpet

After this you can continue playing your game with old saves. To change the mode during the game you can go to Main menu-OPTIONS and choose the Timed/Untimed mode; starting a new game you are choosing the game mode from the very beginning.

Ok, nevermind. I figured it out. Now I'm on the last level and I completed everything, but couldn't connect all the dots. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't analyze everything in the lab. If you have insight I could use it.

annh: thanks for your note. I was able to finally solve the locked box puzzle by writing down what I was doing, too. I like the idea of starting with three green numbers - good idea.
But I don't know how I'm going to solve the string puzzle - I guess it just takes time. As the person from France said, maybe we'll be done by Christmas :-) If only I had more patience...

The study guide does not help you find well hidden objects or thin strands of hair. And there I am searching searching as the clock is running down down down and I will have to play this far again to go searching searching to - you get the idea......

Have no idea what I am going to do with it once I find it (if ever)

When do I use the gears at the bottom of the box and when do I use the jigsaw puzzle piece ???

On the main menu is a HELP option. There are two pages of general instructions about how the game works. It explains what to do with the gears and clues. I believe the walkthrough at Gameboomers shows the location of the clues.

I want to thank you Annh. I was having so much trouble with the time. bought the strategy book and still couldn't make the time. especially in chapter 6. the locked box puzzle. it took up about 10-15 minutes of my time and kept having to do level over. The web site you gave us was the right one, i downloaded it, AND IT WORKED!!!. it now says in option timed mode or untimed mode. this is now a great game. i love it. the only problem i had was the time; and of course a few puzzles. LOL.
thank you again. one thing i need to know, has anyone got up to deduction board. i am stuck here, don't know how to get anything to go on top next to the victim. i have the rug up there. but i guess it went up there from beginning.

I'm in Lindon Hall in the Lady's sitting room. There's a coded message for the jewelry box(?) by the mirror that I can't figure out, where to start? I can only use each number once, and it says that the light will turn from red to green when I'm right. Can't figure this one out for the life of me, and the Gameboomer's walkthrough doesn't have anything on it. Any hints anyone?
