birds eating crops!

OK twice now i had full crops soon as they were done the birds ate it all! what do i need to do i have O food!

You need to make a scarecrow.

To do that, you need an adept level or above farmer. Drop the farmer on the twisted wood on the north side of the map just below the rock pile. Do that twice.
