Hey there Everyone,

If you are having problems getting the game to work correctly, we highly recommend going to our Help pages. Using our Help pages is always the quickest way to get technical problems resolved. Here are a few suggested articles that have helped many people correct these types of problems in the past:

Game Crashing, Freezing, or Blank Screen

Game Compatibility

While we can offer a known solution for technical issues in the Forums, or other tech savvy pond residents can swim by with good tips and suggestions, we cannot provide the same excellent level of support provided by our Customer Support team.

The Forums are not very well suited for the kinds of information gathering and troubleshooting that get these types of issues corrected quickly.

If there is a problem with the game, our Support Team can also gather necessary information on what types of computers are being affected by the problem and deliver this information to the developer for a fix.

If you are not able to get a game working properly using our Help pages, please get in touch with our Customer Support team, you can find a link to contact our Support team on the front page of our Help pages.

When posting in this thread and also when contacting our Support Team, it would be helpful if you could state what system you are playing the game on (i.e. PC, MAC or Mobile), so we can provide you with the appropriate support as quickly as possible.

*Finally, please reserve this thread for tech issues only. If you are seeking game play assistance (i.e. hints and tips), the best thing to do is to start a new thread in the game's Forum by clicking on 'Create New Discussion.'

Windows 7 Pro, DirectX 11, Intel Q35 Express Chipset Family (driver up to date per Microsoft), Adobe Flash just updated this week ( think it's 11-something, but as I say, it was just updates.

Many people are having the same problem, and many (probably of the same people) had the same problem in "Color of Fright." I have the problem in both standard editions, but people who have the collectors edition have had the same problem.

To be as brief as possible - ALL the scenes which have left-to-roght scrolling, and ONLY the scenes that have left to right scrolling, do not have visible backgrounds, but are all black except for active areas (and some of those only when zoomed. This does not prevent one from finishing the game (I finished both), at least in casual mode, but it makes it a lot less fun. In harder modes, it probably does preclude finishing the game, because without some sparkly help, you would have no idea where you are.

Oh, by the way, turning special effects off does not help. Neither does uninstalling and reinstalling, and neither do any other quick fixes.

I'm sure this is a problem with a particular platform and/or a particuar interface, possibly with Windows 7 Pro, but I'm pretty sure there are other O/Ss that also experienced it. It needs to be fixed, in both editions of both games. And it especialy needs to be fixed before any future games are issued with side-to-side scrolling. It is not doing the reputation of either Elephant or BFG any good, as you will see from the acrimonious tones and no-buys in the forums of both games in both versions.

Hi puddykinds,

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with this particular game. Definitely doesn't make things fun.

puddykins, it may be helpful to ensure that everything is up to date with your video graphics card. I'm going to include a help article below:

Game Crashing, Freezing, or Blank Screen

Thanks underwriter for bringing this to our attention. We thoroughly test our games before they are released to the public. With the different combinations of computers on the market today, we do know that issues may arise. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. I'll be sure to pass along the feedback that has been presented.

If you are still having issues, puddykins, please don't hesitate to contact our Technical Support Team with a Dr. Felix Report. They can help look into this for you.

Happy gaming everyone!

I'm sorry I bought the game. It woud be an ok game if all the sparkles could be turned off in the custom mode. Most of the sparkles are off in the open areas but most in hidden places sparkle and show everything without letting me explore the area.
Windows 8.1

Will no doubt go in the "played it once, that's enough" pile.
Yes, I reinstalled, no difference

Like Judyglenning, the sparkles were irritating for me too, but also the fact that the music played in HOPs, and puzzles, even though I had switched the music off.

Some of the cut scenes too only got partial way through the voice over, before it just cut off.
