MCF: Ravenhearst Basement Door

I'm having trouble with the basement door at the end of the game....just can't figure it out....I have read over the diary several times and that's not giving me any clues....does anyone know how to open this door??? Any hints would be so appreciatate.

I also have been having a difficult time trying to get through the basement door - how is it done? I have read and re-read the diary but with no luck - I am about to give up. Can you help me? Thanks
