Finished this yesterday; loved it!!
* If a level is tough, don't worry too much about getting through it in one try. As you go through, though, look for useful information about that level--e.g., that gathering all the energy resources for one portion might only get you +1, while another portion might give you +3. That can help you get through it the second time. * After you've finished a portion of a level, check to see if it's worth playing that portion further before moving on. You might be able to pick up additional energy or skill points. * It's also worth checking to see what energy resources are available at each portion of the level. For example, sometimes the sleep resource is available all the way through, but water or fruit is only available at some stops. That lets you do some planning. * The most helpful skills are the ones that (a) don't cost energy points, and (b) let you "shake up" the board so that new combinations appear. If you have a skill that lets you wipe out a row, use it as far down on the board as you can. * If you have to choose between making a horizontal or vertical combination, choose the horizontal. * Don't focus too much on gathering resources, especially at the higher levels. If you focus on conserving or increasing energy, and on making as many Match Fours as you can, the resource gathering will often take care of itself. * Keep reminding yourself that there's no time limit. You can look around and assess the best options. * The initial board configuration can sometimes make a BIG difference. If you don't like the way the board looks, you can go to Menu-->Replay and get a fresh layout. Towards the end, I'd do this for any board that didn't start with at least one Match 4 possibility. Good luck and have fun! |
