Answering Questions....

[Post New]by Spazzazz on Jul 22, 09 5:16 AM
Well.... Bfg certainly havn't come to the party with answers to anything in relation to this game other than telling people to uninstall/reinstall & in the process having alot of players - lose thr players, stats, points & having to restart over & over again -
Uninstalling & reinstalling your games IS NOT going to fix this problem

I'v posted this in the Mte websites a day or 2 ago & now i'm posting it here - if yr not experienced with the game then you may not understand wots being said -

I usually pop in once or twice a day - so do feel free to ask questions & i will answer them as best as i can for you...............

Answering Questions:

This post is for all of those of you wanting to know why the points are appearing as 500 in yr games & why it is soooo important to ONLY USE COPIES of yr player folders in the game at this time

Have managed to get 1/2 doz players back into the game & playing where the point value appears at the higher values they should be

You can go online with etha version - just use COPIES of yr player folder to go online with.

Ya can test yr player to see what it can do online - using a copy of yr player in yr game go online & make, share & bump 1 lo - if the pts are 10,000 all is good - if they're 500 - thats not good

If it bumps to 10,000 & u exit the game save the 'my' file before reopening it - often people are finding they bumping a launch to 10,000 alright but wen they open thr game the pts have dropped to 500 & theyve lost thr entire launch - if the my file is saved prior to the reopening of the game it saves at 10,000 & can then be transferred into yr original working player folder to be played offline

If however you go online & download los (using a copy of yr player folder) & grab from the launchscreen & it pulls into yr game with a normal point value then all is good - just backup the player into a separate backup from yr usual 1 wen u exit if you want to back it up at this stage & before opening yr game.

Yr usual backup should be used for yr offline player only - so both remain active

If after doing this you go back online & grab & it appears as 500pts - exit the game & put a new copy of the back up in & then go back online again & re attempt it - more than often it works

Please read the 'Save your player files often & before uninstalling thread' so you are able to use copies of yr player folder

The 500pt thing:

Its the pointsmap file in our games thats getting hit - hense the reason for using copies of our players - once yv been online with yr actual player folder & actual backup folder the pointsmap is dead until the game etha turns over or it can be fixed - this is why some have had a fluctuation in thier games - 1 min thr 10,000 the next thr 500 - the player may become 'unable' all together - the player folders iv fixed were at a point whr they havnt been able to do anything - thr player folders were even appearing as 500pts in my games regardless of wot i did - until the pointsmap was replaced

The testing of the folders is complex & can be aggrevating as it involves alot of folder & my file exchanges both on & offline to be sure it stays that way & with the game running as it currently is - it isnt an easy task - the re corruption of a player folder is very possible if you dont know wot yr doing - & they have to be tested - & copies used in the game - as i dont know wot the long term affect would be on a player folder if this technique was used too often on the same player - or how often the same pointsmap can be used

A good running player has an active pointsmap - hense the reason not to take it online - by using a copy - it dosnt matter if it dies - as long as the my file is saved before opening the game - it can be transferred into an active player & be played at normal point value offline

I dont know how long its going to be before the game is running as it should be - who knows - maybe it will never be the same again - thr seems to be times where some players are affected & some arn't all at the same time - its very bizarre

Some have even gone back online at other times with a file of 500pts only to have them all appear at high value wen they get back in the game - it dosnt make sense - but its happening

I think for now & from here on in - myself personally - im guna keep playing using copies - its working - even if the game comes right i think i'll still play it using copies - ya just never know when its going to do what - to stop us playing - & i'm sure not taking that risk anymore

I may be dumb, but I don't get what you mean by testing your player. Please explain

Thanks, Shakysmith

Hi shaky

The test i have explained above is for players that have been playing for quite a long period of time & have version 1.2 of the game - bfg no longer support this version but it is still able to be purchased via other venues

I am assuming you have Bfg version?? This version is known as 1.3

You can still test yr player using this version -

Firstly - you need to back up yr player in the game when the points are showing at the proper value when you download them

To do this follow the instructions in the 'Back up yr player files often & before uninstalling thread' (this needs to be done as soon as you exit your game & before opening it again if the points in it were showing thier true values)

After you have backed up yr player - then open yr game - if the points are still showing thier value then all is ok & ya play them - however if they are all appearing as 500 you will etha

1) have to exit the game & keep trying it every now & then to download more los when the points are showing thier value again - or

2) You can delete the player folder in yr game & copy & paste a copy of yr backup player back in - open yr game, los should be appearing with thier true values - play thm & download another lo - this lo should also be appearing with its true value & can then be played & more los downloaded -

NOTE!! Providing you are able to download & play los at thier true value when the game is open all is ok - (but you must backup the player folder again as soon as you exit the game & before re opening it) If you dont do this as soon as you exit the game - the next time you open it everything you download to play is often back to 500 - & if you put a copy of a player folder in yr game that was backed up eg: 2 days ago - & yv played since then & havnt backed it up - the server will not acknowledge the points yv played & you will lose them

Often the 2nd option will allow you to download los at thr true value - they can then be played & more downloaded - just backup as soon as you exit

Lol - Hi Lanieruff - well if you managing to match random tiles then you well & truly on the right track

The idea is to match all pieces until you have completed the whole layout - when you have completed it - you will move up in ranking - the animals you see around the game are what yr working towards - as you complete a layout you will see the amount of points needed to get to the next rank - the higher up in rank you go - the more points yl need to get to the next one

Once you complete the last ranking of the pig - theres a surprise in store - & even when you complete that the game isnt over - it isnt called Mahjong Towers Eternity for nothing thats for sure!!
