mouse won't work with game

[Post New]by castellerin on Aug 30, 08 10:00 PM
Hi, I have a fairly new laptop with 64bit athlon, 4g ram and farily decent graphics card for laptop. Certainly strong enough for causual games. I downloaded AZADA with great anticipation and my mouse goes all squirrelly one it. I tried websites and more powerful games after and it worked finie. I have never had a problem with it before or on any other game. PLEASE HELP. Has anyone else ever had a mouse problem with this game. I so want to try it.

thanks
miss clairol

I am having the same problem. I used a wireless mouse and took it out and used the touchpad and still floats all over. I tried deleting the game I downloaded in IE and downloaded in Firefox. Still did not work. I haven't went past the first book on Vista cause the mouse movement was driving me crazy especially when the game was at first a timed only game and penalized for a random click. Even in relaxed mode, I can't play fighting the cursor to stop in the right place. I will try going on to the second book and see if it works. I have emailed BFG Thursday afternoon with no answer yet. I can play it on my XP desktop with no problems. But I really wanted it to work on my laptop which I just got last December.

I haven't heard anything yet, but it is a holiday weekend. I tried the installing and uninstalling in Firefox and still floats around. I did battle through again and got the first book done and instead of trying to "fix" it again and start all over, I went on. It is better after the first book, not the best, but I can control it better. It did start again after a few more books, so I quit playing waiting for BFG support. Hopefully tomorrow I will heard something.

Yep, it's the game I believe. Somehow it doesn't work right on all computers, especially with Vista. Very, very weird. It works wonderful on my old laptop with XP and worked horrible on my brand new PC with Vista. The mouse and the game runs slow and choppy - more so in some books / areas then others. I have been working a little with the designer/developer of Azada and Azada: Ancient Magic in hopes of finding the problem. I need to send him some more info.

I am sure if they find out what the problem is and can fix it, they will announce a new version being available.

Fingers crossed!

It might be obvious, but have you tried updating your mouse drivers?

Yes I have. Please see my post above. The problem is within the game.

sorry you all are having mouse troubles. I am running Vista on my computer and I have a wireless mouse and the game ran fine for me...so I don't know if it's a game problem or a computer problem. Just saying...I had no problems. Except when I finished the game I got some read error message, but that's for another thread.

After sending in my report, I think we have part of the problem. Has anyone noticed that the mouse/game runs slower in the scenes where there is a fire burning? Like a fireplace, etc? Check it out and let me know.

The opening scene, the cursor floats around some. Then when it gets to the room with the books to choose, it is better. Then it is ok until you get to the little pig's house, yes, with a fireplace. It is really hard to keep the cursor under control until you finish Fairyland. The next book gets better, but it starts all over again after a few books, but I can't remember where, sorry. When you try to exit, even if the cursor was doing pretty good, the exit scene is hard to exit from, as the cursor floats around. Don't know if this helps, but it is what I'm experiencing on my Vista HP laptop. My HP XP desktop, a few years old, works just fine with the game.

Hello everyone! I'm sorry to hear that some of you are experiencing difficulties with your computer's mouse when playing Azada: Ancient Magic. I would suggest that you contact our Customer Support staff. When you do, it would be a good idea to include a copy of your computer's dxdiag document. You can access it by:

1. Click “Start” followed by “Run.”
2. Type “dxdiag” and click “OK.”
3. The Direct X Diagnostic Tool will Open, click “Save All Information” when it has finished running, and save the “DxDiag” Text file to your desktop.

This document is very helpful for giving our support staff insight into how your computer is running, and may help them pinpoint the problem. I hope this helps!

Happy gaming!

Yep, sounds like the same scenes for me too. The page where it has the "Exit", "Options", "Play", etc. also has a fireplace in it.

It's the fire causing the problems! The designer of the game is now aware of this problem and hopes to find a fix.
What is weird is how it affects some Vista PC's and not others.

I did get an answer from BFG support. Basically it is to follow this page http://bigfishgames.com/help/index.html?rn=515

I did update the Direct X and my Nvidia drivers. Then I was told in the email to uninstall and reinstall the game. I really don't want to reinstall again. This is like the third or maybe the fourth installment. So I haven't tried uninstalling yet. I did try the opening scene and exit again and the cursor seemed better. I will try the game again until I find a fireplace.

I opened several books and found a fireplace in the witch one. My cursor seemed to slow down, but when I went to exit out, it was floating again and it was hard to exit. I am going to answer the email and report all this.

Well I have rechecked all my drivers and they are up todate. My son can play halon on the computer and it is brand new. Now I have found I can't play the 4 elements game either. Same problem, the cursor won't show up. I can play jewelquest 3 and all the other new games. I am out of ideas...........I have uninstalled and reinstalled both games. Anyone come up with any ideas???

thanks Miss clairol

I think it's best that you work with the Technical Support crew, as they are the ones who can actually work with the game developers and come up with a diagnosis.

I have found out the problem from one of the BF techs. I was afraid of this. Some of the games will not play on my new laptop because it is of the new 64bit instead of the usual 32bit. I have now found a few demos which will work on all computers in the house except for the small laptop I bought so specifically so I could play the games in bed. (pathetic I know ! lol) It is always the same problem too, the mouse cursor will not show up. So anyone out there with a 62bit computers........make sure you try all demos and you may have some problems. I find about 20percent of the games have a problem.

I am having the same issue with my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. The cursor will not show up on older games. It is also operating on Vista 32-bit. I have Direct X 10 and all other drivers are up to date! The games that follow this pattern all work fine on my Vista 32-bit desktop. I think it maybe a touch pad issue...

I have installed an optical mouse on my laptop but the problem is still the same. No cursor.

Anyone else have a brainy idea for this problem??

I am also having problems. They really didn't bother me until the Genie Book. I can't get the ball to go through the maze. Actually I CAN but it takes up most of the time for the book. I have a brand spanking new eMachines, a new mouse. I am running Vista 32 bit. I have updated the heck out of all my drivers, including my mouse and my video drivers. I have closed down most of the background programs. I really don't understand why this is. All of my other games - and I have a load of them - work. This game used to work for me - on my old computer which ran XP with an AMD 2400 processor and 2 gigs of ram.
