problems with running game

I was just wondering if anyone else has had tech problems with this game? Everytime a character comes up on the screen it is only there for a second and I am unable to read what the converstion is because it flies by. I have called tech support and did what they suggested (updated my video card) I dont have problems with any other games (and I have downloaded quite a few). Just wondering if I am the only one having problems. And I have also tried reinstalling the game several times with no difference.
