Anyone else like this game besides me?

[Post New]by MichGal on Sep 5, 08 10:47 AM
I don't see any talk about this game at all. Just wondering if anyone else liked this game and was hoping they'd make another one.

I love this game. I got frustrated with it so I haven't played in a while. I am stuck on the last level. I have played it for hours and hours and hours and I don't get any closer to beating it. So I gave up a few months ago.

I love this game, in fact I have completed it twice. But alas, tycoon games rarely come with sequels, because they end up being very samey, particularly when they are formatted like this.

Plus besides the delightful theme its not a particularly innovative game and so with its age its lost publicity and popularity so sadly, this was all to be expected.

I am finding this game a bit same-old after playing a few levels, but I do have to ask:
What exactly is the charming prince saying? Is it words or gibberish? It's driving me nuts

I too have played this game ... I got this game almost a year ago and have beaten the game more than once ... Tycoon type games are actually my favorite type ... I would love to see more of these types of games on BFG ...

I loved this one as well. One of the first I purchased actually. I wish there would be some sort of sequel. At least something in the same vein. The weather outlook, method of purchasing ingredients, the goons to hire...

Me too! I'm hooked on Roller Coaster Tycoon. I'm back to playing RCT2. RTC3 isthe best! But RCT2 never looses it's thrill for me. So I go back to it every now and then. In fact, I have a game paused right now. I play it on and off throughout the day. LOL

It would be nice if they could throw a little of Westward into this game. Make it to where you have to build a town of workers to produce the potions before selling them.

I love this game, it's so cute, but at the same time requires strategy and thought, not just mindless clicking. I've beat the game several times, and then gone back to play my fave villages. I love the fairytale theme, and all the cute sideplots. There should be more games on BFG like this one!

I love this game but I'm getting stuck on Sure Would Forest...after being stuck in Piggyton for so long it caused me to not play for months. I usually go back to it after some of the frustration wears off.

I usually hate tycoon games, but I like this one!

I lost my progress on this one when I had to reformat my computer. I haven't gone back to it because I haven't wanted to start over from the beginning again... it was cute, but I can't remember a lot about it. I should d/l it again, although I remember getting stuck and frustrated lol.

I love this game and have beaten it 3 times so far. a sequel would be great.

I got frustrated and stopped playing several times but perseverence got me through. Each time I failed I replayed the levels with a slightly different strategy but some things stayed the same. I upgrade my potion maker at least once as soon as possible, preferably twice. Next on my list of importance is the store and warehouse. Get the mushroom asap . Remember the fairy godmother will bail you out of the loan shark once per level not once per game (thats something that surprised me at first)

Get your research going but dont worry too much about it. I get my promotion up to flying monkeys and keep it there as much as possible. If you start running into problems decrease it, but by this point you should be pretty popular.

Just remember - keep your prices pretty low, slightly more than it costs you to make them, but not too low. This encourages more people to come and see you. The other thing is keep your potion mixer fast. if you struggle getting people served in time, think about upgrading him.

I agree with the sequel idea!! I love the fact that they totally messed with the fairy-tale storylines!! To me the ugly duckling was the best -- who needs beauty when you can lay golden eggs!!!

One of the best tips I got about the game is that the Fairy Godmother will bail you out finanically 1 time each level. So -- I borrow the full amount from Mr. Shark, purchase the upgrades that I think are the most important, i.e. warehouse, worker speed, entertainment. I also do promo up to the flying monkey level -- AND --- get the mole upgrade so that you can see what your competition is charging. When you run out of money (and i've got that part down pat) Fairy Godmother swoops in -- pays off the loan shark, and tells you to do better. Remember, she only does this once a level (found that out the hard way)!! One of my favorite parts is watching the people's clothing slowly change colors-which indicate their loyalty!!

On the "goon" section of the upgrades -- get the magic carpet upgrade and put it in front of your competion. I usually start with Prince Chaming. That ensures you get some of their business. Also, make sure with the new potion research that you get the new spells first. If you have 2 or 3 rounds without your competition having that spell you can charge, almost as much as you want.

I love this game too!!

I thought the art was pretty neat. I loved the whole helping out fairytale people thing, too. It was one of my favourite features.

I also love this game. Any tycoon games draw my interest and I would love to see a some sort of sequel to this.
